thanks....tried to order everywhere, you can still buy the passenger side front but not the driver side. So now the fun begins.....but for now, I'll be gettin muddy.

DIY maybe?

I too am in the same boat having checked with just about every dealer in the US for one driver side MG that might be sitting on a shelf somewhere, but I think I'm ready to bypass Toyo all together.

I have a passenger side MG, and can get it 3d scanned to an STL file which i can import into 3DMax, mirror, and export as a driver side STL file.

Then all I have to do is start shopping for 3d ABS print services and make my own. . . which doesn't cost as much as you might think.

I think I'm frustrated enough with this whole thing to warrant getting this process started - now watch, Toyota will come after me for copyright infringement :dizzy:

Been there. . .

Thanks, been there - wrong part. The flaps for the trucks with the chrome fender trim are available but don't fit with the large black plastic flares.

Tried Camelback also, out of stock, discontinued, no joy.

Full set or offshore

Brandsport appears to have the full 8 piece flare set in stock, including the front left mudflap, if you feel like spending $600+. Selling off the rest of the flare group on Fleabay to recoup the expense doesn't appear to be a viable option at this time, but YMMV.

The only other stock locations I've found are offshore, and I'm a bit reluctant to give my CC to a Russian Auto Parts dealer (no offense intended).

None of the aftermarket flare sets I've seen for 3g runners have mud flaps, so that gets me nowhere that I want to go as I don't do any wheelin and have major snow to deal with.

Toyota for their part appear not to actually declare a part "discontinued" until all stock is exhausted and no further production is planned, hence the right side being available and the left discontinued. I had to replace the right rear flare this summer due to a collision with a bear (he hit me) and the shop said it was a bear to get the parts (pun intended) and they would soon be discontinued. I suspect the whole flare and flap set will be extinct soon.

I used to work as an engineer in Toyota's supply chain and can tell with absolute candor that starting up production of an old part is a REALLY big deal, and I can understand their reluctance to do so.

I'm working on the 3d scan for the right side and will see if I can get a mirror image printed in ABS. The problem is that the organic shape and black color require that I index the crap out of the thing with white target marks to get a viable scan (the photogrammetry modeling itself is free).

Oh well, I love a 3d modeling challenge. . . if I get it together this winter and have any success I'll post the results and see if I can get a volume discount. I plan on having this vehicle for a looooong time yet.

These aren't OEM, but they look pretty good to me.

Here's the link to his page. He's on here as well, username is Speedy. Click on the "Front Mud Guard" link on the left.

It'll be amazing if you can actually have these things produced. I'll definitely be in line for a pair.

any update on this? Did you have a set made that worked for the SR5 with black plastic flares? The above mentioned flap only works with limited type flares if im looking at it correctly.

Re: Discontinued mud flaps

Read this thread and am wondering if anyone has any updates two years later? I am removing the running boards and having rock sliders put on and will have same issue. I called around to several places today and apparently, in toyota dealership listings US-wide, there are 76 of the passenger side fender flare to mud flap extensions but 0 of driver side. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I also will have two 1996 4runner running boards available for sale after Monday at very reasonable price if anyone is interested.
