Mudflaps with running boards, which ones?

Nice 4Runner. I just purchased a 2014 limited, blizzard pearl a month ago. I ordered the running boards and mud flaps. I installed the running boards and rear mud flaps no problem, and am planning to install the front mud flaps tomorrow. When you installed your front mud flaps, what did you do with the existing flap that sits in the wheel well? Did you remove it completely, or did you trim some of it off? The new mud flaps will not fit without doing one or the other.

Either way works, but I decided to remove due to tight clearances when installing 285's.

Husky Liners didn't need any drilling and seem to do a great job of keeping spray/debris off the body. With running boards as well (factory), there is almost nothing that gets on the body, but lots caked to the underside of the boards.
