Mudflaps, yes or no?

I was looking on Ebay and can get a pretty decent deal on mudflaps but unsure what functionality they will give. I am sure it will stop some rocks from hitting the rocker panels from the front tires but unsure how they will look with them. I have seen a new new Runners in my area and none have them on it. Do you guys have them? Easy to install?

Not super visible on my BP SR5, but here are a few shots.

Personally, I've been VERY happy with them. I have the Huskey versions. There was a very noticeable difference with the amount of dirt and gunk that ended up on the sides and rocker panels after I installed them.

The only thing I worry about is more serious off roading. I know a few guys who have snapped the OEM mud flaps on their TRD off-road Tacomas on more severe trails where the plastic smashes into whatever rock or log they just crossed over. I'll probably take mine off for my big off roading trip next month.

I have Toyota ones off of Ebay. I think they were originally intended for the Canadian Limited because they did require very light modification (a few extra holes drilled) to fit. They did not come with instructions, so I just had to "wing it", but I got them on in about an hour. I'm not mechanically inclined by any means, but I put some Toyota Mudflaps on my wife's highlander before and a lot of the fasteners were the same I'm very happy with them; and at $60, you can't beat the price. Mud-gaurds are a must for me because I have to drive to work in all weather. With nothing there, snow and slush spray all over the side of my truck....and then all over my pants when I step out.

Mudflaps are awesome...they serve a purpose.

Prevents dirt, rock chips & a courtesy of a lower risk in flinging something at the vehicle behind you.

Tools Needed
• Low profile right angle ratcheting screw driver

I installed the Husky mud guards on my SR5. Super easy to install and no need to drill any holes. You will need either a super stubby phillips screw driver or a right angle ratcheting phillips for the rears. Also, the Husky mud guards cost $60 delivered.
