Muffler opinions?

I have a '99 3.4L T4R. I have the flowmaster 40 series for a muffler now, but i want something that sounds more like a V8, like a more Muscle-y sound to it. Any Recommendations, make and model would be sickk

I think its gonna be hard to get a true V-8 sound. But I think most people like the Borla system for its deeper tones.

Is it just a muffler or a cat back? Id also like to change my muffler for a deeper sound, but I dont want to buy a whole cat back. If you could point me to what you have Id love to take a look.

Um, what he said. You'll never make a Toyota V6 sound like a V8. You can change the pitch, where the drone frequency is, etc...but you'll never make it sound like a V8. Unless you add two cylinders. :guitar2:

The Flowmaster 40 and the Cherybomb Vortex are as close as you are going to come to a V8 sound.

check out spintech man its got a nice grumble to it. IMO it sounds way less ricey then a lot of other exhaust that i have heard. there is a guy on youtube with one. that a lone sold me. Ill have to post what mine sounds like too.

how long/ much money should it cost to put a new muffler and exhaust tip and 2 gaskets on.. i got it looked at today and he said 360.00.. good price?

Way too much. No more than 30 minutes for the muffler and tip.

Not only is that not a good price, its a rape. Theres a thread going on an Amazon special on mufflers. I got one for under $70 shipped and will find someone to weld it in for $30ish. If you spend any more then around $100 or so on just a muffler and install, consider yourself bent over and grabbing your ankles.

i on the paper it says.... new muffler.... 2 gaskets....over the axle pipe so that must be the exhaust tip.. right?


but ive been calling local auto parts store and for anew muffler asembley it was 158.00 for the tip was 89.00 and 2 gaskets were 8.00


what/ where should i look?

im kinda tight on money right now but want to get it fixed.... sounds like crap so what ever the cheapest way to go... is there a big difference on factory and non?

You can get a new muffler that is almost as quite if not as quite for a lot cheaper than $160.

yea i looked at it when it was on the stand there was a hole starting at the end of the muffler where the pipe start and he said that the tail pipe had to be cut off because the gasket was to rusted to unblot..

if you got any recmendation on a tail pipe and muffler im all ears..
