It makes sense... coolant cleaning the area???
Honest question, is this an already stablished, well known sign of HG leak?
(I have a low mileage 2003 V6, so far so good)

There's also significant oil infiltration the combustion chamber, and it is a problem unrelated to the head gasket. I think AU Seeker nailed down this one.

I believe it. Between the abrasiveness of coolant and the scalding hot liquid under pressure, I get it would be very effective at cleaning carbon off of a head
