Now that's an interesting idea. I could use a bit more leg support. The seat is a bit flat and low (but not nearly as bad as the Tacoma). Did you do this on the front posts?

The angle of the seat can also be adjusted using the buttons (only for the driver's seat).
Yeah, I was able to adjust mine so the front tilted up quite a bit.

Having those two things makes it a lot easier to get help when stuck!
Skip the $1500 drawer pullouts and get yourself 2 or 4 of these. they go on sale frequently for $20-25. You can stack two side by side for a lot of storage with space behind even with the rear seat up. Or take them out easily and put something else in there.

They hold a TON of stuff. (not the board or tape gun) then some.
The bathmats slide forwards to cover the back of the seats for doggos. As you can tell from the dust I'm not AR about some dust or dog hair but wet paws are are something I don't need to smell all week.

Well ok, I do have a Mag Safe 3 ready to go once I get some other cargo area organization done and an overhead locking rifle rack installed.
This is what I had setup in my Tahoe before trading it in on the 4Runner..
For the 4Runner I want to do something similar to this..
But I'm waiting to post anything about it until I get it completed...

Dude you live in Phoenix, invest in some quality tint as mentioned above, the Llumar one that helps with heat rejection as well. Also if you have Facebook check out Arizona 4Runners page. Lots of cool people and we try to get together and hit some trails around here.

Yes, I took the front two bolts out of each front seat, took them in the hardware store and bought a bunch of larger washers to handle the weight etc. I wanted a larger washer so the seat post was completely supported and not teetering on them. I think I ended up with 5 after toying around with what felt good with all the different seat angles etc....also made the wife do the same. I put them under the seat bracket and put the seat blot through them on both the driver and passenger sides. . I will tell you to make sure that the washer is as tight to the bolt whole size as possible for safety reasons and that they are good and snug when you tighten them down.
My biggest complaint with the T4R and the Taco were the way the seats felt like they were almost dumping you in the floorboards. I am not overly tall, 5'11 but I am all legs and arms so I sit with the seat back in it's furthest position. (Yes I apparently have the torso length of Barney Rubble :yield: ) This very cheap fix worked like a charm! I put them in when I bought the truck in 2015 and I have had zero issues. Super easy, super cheap and a nice way to improve your cabin! Good luck!

My issue with the seat being adjusted at that high of a setting was that on long trips it cuts the circulation off in your legs. (think sitting on the can to long)I drive 4 hours twice a weekend, every weekend and this was a gods sent. My wife also has MS, which causes her legs to tingle and go numb. Before she could barely be in the rig for an hour and she hasn't complained one time since.
I'm confused by what you did then. I thought you were putting washers under the front to raise it up. Can you explain what in more detail what the washers did to the seat alignment?

Instead of getting the 20-25 sterilite storage boxes, costco frequently has the "tough box" (with the yellow top) that are similar to Hope Depot's HDX Tote. They are 27 Gallons and can stack easily and I abuse the s*** out of them when camping. HD has them for $56 a piece, costco has them for $8.

I read that. It says what you did with the washers, but I am not familiar with what the underside of the seat looks like, so that didn't tell me what I was looking for. I'm more curious about the end result you were after and how that was accomplished with washers but not the built-in seat adjustment.

Ok, in the pic below with the yellow circle, it shows the plastic cover location on your seat. Remove that, it simply pops/slides forward to remove them. In the second pic you will see the bolt I am talking about, remove both on each seat but only the front. You might need to loosen the back two on each to get the seat to tilt back, but do not remove them all the way.
Once the bolts are out and the back bolts are lose, you will be able to push on the back of the seat and create a space between the seat frame "arm" and the body of the truck where it was mounted. I put the washers on the between the body where the bolt screws in and the under side of the seat "arm" then sat the seat back down on top of them. It causes the seat to have a new natural rise and doesn't impede on any movement of the automatic seat. I added and removed washers to the height I wanted, with the auto seat all the way in the down position, front and rear. Pic with the arrow....do the front of the button and the back of the same button. The seat will adjust as it always did, but the new lowest point it will go will be higher than it was before. That way, when I adjust the front of the seat to rise with the auto adjuster I don't have to go to it's highest point to be comfortable, which caused my legs to fall asleep after long periods of time. Once you find your right height, put your front bolts back in.....tighten to snug, then tighten down the rear. Hope this makes sense, sorry for borrowing this thread...cheers!

Thanks for the extra detail. I guess the part that confused me was that the adjustment of the seat to raise up the front would make your legs fall asleep but doing the washers doesn't. I would have figured they would have done the same thing to the seat bottom. Very interesting there is a difference there. Might still not be visualizing it right. But great that you found a solution that is comfortable for you!
