I have a lot of these mods, but I will second a dash cam. I was in a side swipe car accident last February, where a guy decided to make a left turn from the center lane. Damage was minor, but he could have easily claimed that i turned into him. The video cleared up liability right away. $99 from Amazon, easy to install.

Unfortunately it does. I have really considered modifying it and trying my hand at stitching in a flap so it can still be used. I honestly rarely use the mirror, but since I got the visor organizer I have found myself attempting to use the mirror only to remember I can't hwell:

I remember seeing this months ago, and while useful, do you worry about extra strain on your visor due to weight? As a former 80 series owner, it was not uncommon to have visor tension failure, and you're left with a floppy visor. Replacements were $200. I think modern 4r visors are cheaper.

Would you kindly share a link for the d-rings? I just googled and didn't see the ones you shared a photo of. Different designs out there but couldn't find yours.

Toyota OEM part # 58460-35012

They call them "luggage strikers". You need 2. You reuse the bolt from the coat hook.

I got them from toyotapart.com but any dealer can order them.

I just realized that my wife's Prius has them in the cargo area, too; I stole 2 before we traded it in. They are chrome, though.

Good call. I was just going to post about tool box drawer liner and spray adhesive in those stupid cubbies. Your template will make that super easy. $5 for the drawer liner and $5 for a can of Super 77 spray adhesive.

And for a suggestion no one has done yet, FJ Cruiser D Rings to replace the coat hooks... or you can go to the next level and do a paracord frame using those D rings and hang a 28"x28" bungee net off it...



$10 ea for the D rings and maybe $20 in paracord, velcro wraps cut to size, and the bungee net.

Generally storage of light, bulky items like puffy winter coats or similar when the rest of the rig is loaded up

What dealership? I just bought from Nalley Toyota in Roswell and they were beyond helpful. Granted, I bought an SR5 off the lot, not preorder a TRD.

I'm picking mine up from a dealer in North Carolina who gave me $2k off MSRP. Every dealer in GA (and I check with just about every single one) either told me:

1) We don't have any/won't be getting any.
2) You can pay MSRP
3) You can pay MSRP +$2500

Said thanks but not thanks and looked elsewhere.

I'm not that worried about the strain on it. At this point the heaviest things I keep up there are a mini 12ft tape measure and a smaller sized multitool. Other than that its pens and my registration/insurance slips. It's been a few months and there aren't any signs of sagging...yet.

Oh, and which dash cam did you go for? I have been really contemplating a camera for my truck and my gfs car.

Unbelievable...my dealer has told me they're totally in the dark w.r.t any of these dates. Such BS!! What I wouldn't have given to have this kind of service when ordering my Pro!!

When did you actually go into the dealer and tell them you wanted to buy the pro? Just trying to get an estimate for my dates based off of yours!

I called them and put the order process in motion on January 19th. That's the date I put the deposit on the truck. I was finally able to pick it up this past Sat. (4/29/17)

I have one of these in both cars. I had a different brand one previously that failed so I didn't bother to go the add a fuse route with this one; mine just snakes behind the dash and plugs into the 12v on the dash.

BTW depending on your environment the Canadian 3rd row seat cargo liner may not be a good choice. It has a crack down the middle to allow each seat to be raised individually. Thus stuff like beach sand in my case would easily go down the crack. I opted for the OEM cargo liner.
