MUSTY AIR from A/C Vents

In the last few days the temperatures have risen... I adjusted the A/C to the coldest temp and re-circulate. Hell it smells like musty feet! I thought it was the wife's feet for a moment, or even mine (Jajaja). What the heck, I only have 4700 miles.

Anyone experience this... Looking for recommendations prior to going to stealership! Maybe it just the cabin filter?

I've had this before on other vehicles. The solution that worked for me was to before shutting off the vehicle, turn off the A/C, set to outside fresh air, and turn the fan on high for a couple minutes to warm up and dry off the evaporator coils. Otherwise, they stay cold and moisture condenses on them in the enclosed space under the dash, and it gets musty. Give that a try and see if the problem goes away in a few days. Good luck!

detailers domain carries a good hvac cleaner that is easy to use. i always do it once a year if/when i am living in a humid climate(i move a lot for work).

i'd have to say its the in-cabin filter.

I'd check this too. If that filter is filthy, it may also be contributing.

Well the smell is gone... Cleaned out the cabin filter and ran the 'Fan' only at full high early this morning. :thumb3:

Note: Used an air compressor to blow out the dust particles and a good amount of small leaves leaves within the 'folds'. I will be picking up a new filter on my next trip to Toyota or NAPA to replace this one.

At least i did not have to address the evaporator...

I was going to say change your panties, if the in-cab air filter didn't fix it.
But sounds like you got it figured out, so I will have to wait til later to use that one.
