Short update After a lot of researching and bugging Zopperman left and right I finally ordered the bulbs to do my hvac seat heaters and misc other lights inside . Once ordered and installed it wasnt that bad at all I just struggled making sure I had the right bulbs before ordering . Then once I knew what bulbs I needed I had no idea what colors I wanted to do then finally came up with the awesome idea to do red white and blue across the gauges .heres the end result

Also minor but pulled my radio surround trim ( previous owner had a sticker on one side and when I removed it paint was all cracked under it been bugging me since I got it) and decided to prep it and color match it to the paint turned out pretty good in my opinion Im happy with the turnout.

Also got around to color matching the headlights really stoked with how they turned out as well very big visual improvement .

Other news got a diff skid , and my shrockworks bumper is roughly 2 months away from being mine . Also got to wheel it a little for the first time since the new end links and can say they work because now im rubbing in the rear which Ive never had issues with so got some more trimming to do .

Also am debating building some type of storage system in the rear and incorporate my spare on it for now

Short update nothing exciting for the truck bough my first house finally a garage !!! moving next weekend so money been going towards furniture etc . Nothing exciting but changed all diff fluidsand tranny fluid with amsoil goods , and rear caliper was sticking so got new calipers rotors and pads for rear while I was at it . Been stacking up some parts need to get them on when I get settled

Big plans for winter such as arb lockers compressor , 315/75/16 hopefully find a set of16s to fit if not 315/70/17 likely cooper sstr or Goodyear mtr, total chaos spindle gussets , lower control arm tabs , and upper control arms . And if money allows metal tech long travel the rear , and Whitson rack .

The ones I got for the stock housings are from lifetime led got them through Steve at southeast overland , they're lifetime replacement any issues .

Quick update 8/29/2015

Got married .....

Got a synthetic winch line and factor 55 flat link .

Had a buddy make me a fuse box inside a pelican case for when I get around to wiring everything .

Scored a cbi rear bumper with swing out used going to pick it up in a couple weeks .( stoked )

Bought a 12 Tacoma access cab in pyrite micha my fav Toyota color , initially purchased to replaced matrix but may hang on to it as well will see . Fun little truck to drive around got it mainly because tired of hooking up a trailer to do everything I want to .

And not much else unless you wanna include tge tons of money going into the house right now . That's about it for now still haven't installed anything yet parts are stacking up .

Had a buddy install a lot of my parts song could make a trip back in October . Have been remodeling my new house and haven't had time to work on my truck . Soo the bumper is on , CB , fog lights, winch, synthetic line front stainless braided lines , rear ext brake lines , metal tech bump spacer , long travel rear in and I went back to stock air box (again) tired of cleaning and oiling intake .


Got the metal tech kit went with the 3" dual rate long travel springs , icon 2.5s with cdc clicker things , and dropped ma sway bar . Went to Potts mtn and performed awesome for being open open with 32s the added travel out back definitely got me through a lot more places previously it was pretty pathetic what I would get hung up on due to lack of lockers .

Future plans

Rebuild coilovers , make decision if I want to save for gears lockers and 315s or go budget route and get 285/75/17s and just a rear locker for now .

Have the following to install whenever I get around to finishing my house and have time . Opr link guards , metal tech lower links , icon rear shock skids , cbi ditch light brackets and flood pattern led cubes , fuse box , ottraw switches , back up light , rock lights , on board air , prinsu rack (they make one for fourth gens now !!) and ebc stage five rotors with yellow stuff pads .

Problems incurred. When trying to install the new pads and rotors couldn't get the pads to work seems as if the auto store calipers I've replaced may not be exact oem replacement haven't figured out yet . After adding long travel rear the drive shaft nails the gas tank skid plate at flex . I cut the corner off where the mount is and relocated the mount more to the inside and welded it in place . Still rubs a little need to grind more but much better than it was . Previously the bolt heads on drive shaft were hitting the bolt head on skid plate mount so was a clunk clunk . Other than that everything works good winch works good , I've outgrown the tires for sure wanting more aggressive bigger tires . Looking to go with a total chaos long travel set up in the front or sas be looking more serious into it this time next year . Here's some pictures .

Long time since I've updated this.

Since last I've killed my battery bought a yellow top to replace.

Installed metal techs rear links opor link skids , and icon read shock guards

Rebuilt Susp front and rear replaced coil over springs with King 700lb springs made the coil overs ext travel they weren't originally. Got my short reservoir lines replaced with longer ones.

Ditched spc uppers for tc uppers kinky because the spc bj wouldn't fit through the spindle gussets. Otherwise the spc were great I think they've def got them figured out now no issues on my revised set. Added tc spindle gussets. Have coil over bucket gussets, tc cam tabs and rear diff guard to weld on still.

While I had spindles off replaced wheel bearing with a set from the nj guy on here I recommend him.

A caliper seized again this time I replaced front calipers with oem fifth gen calipers rotors and lads the caliper pistons are 3 my larger tan fourth gen and the rotors are thicker as well complete bolt on mod fifth gens aren't having seizing problem we are. They work great.

Got rest of my recovery gear together.

Future .. Install lifetime LEDs flush mounts for rear and ditch lights along with cbi brackets, rock lights and maybe a light bar. Have all that and a fuse box to put in. Find a good deal on some 33/34s for now not looking to regear yet.



Rebuild cvs cheap boots I used two years ago dry rotting ready.

Been collecting parts for my little Tacoma (taquito) as well have everything to swap front end to 2012 front end minus headlights so that's coming along, as well as lower 3/4 tint window and find some wheels.




Eyeing a set of tc lowers right now as well...
