My 1988 4Runner for sale

Hey guys, I want to buy a new 2011 Fj so I'm putting up my 4Runner to sell.
She is built well and for the most part stock....please let me know if any of you guys would be interested in the rig.

I will still be around and still own a 1985 T4R as well as our new project rig, a 1986 eXcab 4x4 back to the future style truck we are in the beginnings of restoring.

That price is steep IMO. Truck like that goes for 3k tops up here. But more power to you if you get some one willing to pay it.

You've got super-clean 1st gen rigs under 200,000 miles selling for 3k?

S2k, that's more money than I've got, but I've always loved that truck, good luck with the sale.

eBay seems to get top buck I may list it there. The dealer offered $5500 after I worked my best cash deal on the new Fj

ah who cares man!!! there you happy good luck getting 8k for it. i doubt that will happen you should have taken the 5500 when you had the chance. and for ebay. ebay is not selling vary much for 4runners right now.ass!!!!

That is a nice 4runner. I get compliments and people stopping me to ask me about mine regularly, and I would definitely give you props on yours. As far as price goes, you won't pay tax on the amount that you trade it in for, so if they are still offering $5500, its almost like you are getting $6K for it.

If they have the FJ you want, just get them to move on their FJ's price by another $750, and give you another $500 on your truck. Compared to the deal you had worked out before, with the added tax savings, its as if you are getting $7250 for your truck. Close enough in my book.

Either way, good luck with the transaction.

You guys are lucky. In California, we pay 8-9% (depending on which County) on the total purchase price, regardless of trade-in. There is no such thing as an offset for trade-in amount. Don't know what they do in Florida.

The ad is down so maybe it sold already? Your '88 is my favorite on here becasue it's a replica of the '88 DLX I purchased new in Nov. 88 for $12,500 and sold 8 years later for $7,500 at 100,000 miles. It was the most economical car I've ever owned. The only difference I can tell is that mine had Outlaw II wheels. I will miss seeing your truck.

The 4Runner is sold to the dealer they took one look at it and had a test drive and had to have it...the sales manager had the biggest smile on his face driving it...he kept talking about how great it sounded and drove.
They just built the new dealership and I am pretty sure it will be put on the showroom floor as display.

Well I have just under 300 miles on the new Fj so far and it's great
I will miss my old 4Runner but, I still have the 1986 eXtra cab 4x4 under restoration for my son and the 85 t4r parts truck/maybe fix up truck

I'm jealous. I've also considered getting an FJ, and if I did, that color would be at the top of my list. I also really dig on the rims. Aren't those 4Runner wheels?. . . never seen them on an FJ, but looks real nice.

Thank you, the color is growing on me I am really starting to like it a lot. The color and wheels are new for this year.
