Here is a pic of the day I bought my new used rig.

Here is a pic of little mods I have done in the 2 weeks since I purchased. Although I haven't done much to it (tinted windows, vent visors, husky liners and removed pinstripes and dealer decals) I am still loving the look. Just waiting on my Daystar leveling kit and then I am going to put some new tires on it. I am thinking 265/75/16. I am currently running Michelin Cross Terrain 265/70/16, but I am looking for a little bigger and more aggressive.

Just ordered the 1" leveling kit from Daystar. So from what I read, I will be getting 2" front lift out of that. Then the 265/75/16 (not sure which tire to choose though) and a trailer hitch.

I am stuck between tires though. I really like the BF Goodrich AT KO, Hankook Dynopro ATM and the General Grabber AT2. From everything I gathered here, I can run a 265/75/16 on my stock rims, so I am looking forward to that.

I am open to other suggestions though. I wont be doing any serious off-roading (as of now) but I do want it to be ready if I decide to. I know for a fact I don't need a winch or anything that serious.

I have had good experiences with BFG's. I have them on my Ford PSD and they can handle the muddy stuff pretty well. I have bridgestons on my 4runner and have went mudding with them and my 4runner is 2wd if that helps. I do like my hitch kinda helps in rear enders.

How do you like the vent visors? Do they really cut down on wind noise with the windows up or down? I was thinking of getting some too.

I can vouch for the Hankooks. I have had them on and they KICK ASS on dirt, rocks, and in the rain. My buddy (Buddy A) with a Tacoma has the Light Truck Hankook Dynapro ATMs and he says "they are f**king MONEY". He has taken them to the snow, the desert, dirt, rocks and rain. I have the 265 70 16s and no mods to date. They are also quiet on the road. My other buddy (Buddy B) with a Tacoma has the General Grabbers. We all went on about 40 miles of offroad trail running 2 weeks ago and Buddy A claims that the Hankooks are better than Buddy B's Grabbers.

Personally I don't think the Vent Visors cut down on wind noise that much. I do like them just to air out the rig without having rain coming in. Also I think they are cosmetically appealing.

How about when you spray your windshield and use your wipers, do they help from keeping all that washer fluid from getting all over your side windows?

Yes, I thought I was the only one who thought of that. Also, they are perfect for smoking when it is raining. Although I am not proud to be a smoker it is a plus not to get soaked.


Also, this morning I pulled the trigger on the Hankook Dynopro ATM. I ordered them from Discountire.com. I ended up getting 265/75/16 for $110 a piece. So with 4 tires (mom is buying me the 5 for my birthday) and the tire replacement package for all 4 I paid $511 shipped to my door.

I just got a call from autoanything and they informed me that the Comfort Ride Leveling Kit is on a little back order so I canceled my order. I am having second thoughts now about what spacer lift I should get.

Which spacer lift should I go with. I am running 265/75/16 Hankook Dynapro ATM (I just bought them so they will be on for a while). I don't do any serious off-roading, just dirt and gravel roads and some mud here and there. My 4 choices are.....


1) Cornfed 1" Leveling Kit
2) Cornfed 2/1
3) Daystar Comfort Ride Lift & Leveling Kit 1" Front = 2" Total front lift
4) Daystar 2.5" Front Strut and Rear Coil Spring Spacer

So after having these tires for almost a week now I have no complaints. They are just as quite as the stock tires that came on the rig. They handled real well in a downpour the other night. I haven't gotten to do any 4wheeling with these, but I look forward to moderate use.

Installed my Daystar 1" Comfort Ride Leveling Kit this morning. Raised the front 2". The bottom of the fender sat at 34" before the lift and now sits at 36". I will have pics posted later this evening.

Get em up! I just installed my Daystar 1" front spacer a couple days ago, I want to see the difference between the two if any

I am not gonna lie, I am addicted to mods now. I am at a crossroads though, because I don't know what I should do next. While I originally liked the looks of the vent visors, I am thinking about removing them. Not really sure though. I also though about getting a bull bar, but I kinda am liking how the front end looks and sits now. Comments appreciated.
