My 4Runner is finally coming

Dealer just called to tell me I will get it no later then the third week of January. They have a Vin# but claim they can't tell me if I got the Micheline cross terrain tires or the brigestones. He says there is no way to find out about the tires till they get the vehicle. Does any body know if it is possible to find out what brand tires are on it?

That is very true because my parents had the exact same request. There is actually no way to find out the brand of tires because it is not listed on the sticker nor can you tell from the VIN number. My parents had the dealer write in the bill that Michelin Cross Terrains must be on the truck at the time of deilvery.

I could not get the specified tires written on the contract like your parents did. Dealer said if they have the Micheline's on a 4Runner he is willing to swap, that was the best I could do. Currently the dealer only has the Brigestone tires.
I saw the sheet the dealer gets regarding vehicles coming in. They only give approximate delivery dates, further tracking like where is it right now is unavailable to them. The sheet said 2nd week of January, the dealer said possible but 3rd week for sure. About a week before delivery, they do get exact dates however.

The information the dealer received is most likely their allocation and your specific configuration is on that allocation.

When I ordered mine, the dealer was able to find out what day the truck would arrive at port. From there they did not know what day the truck would leave port for the dealer, until the actual arrival date neared.

IMO, sometimes knowing too much gets me hoping for more. I was also hoping for Michelin CrossTerrains, luckily it came with them. Then I was hoping my truck was built in Tahara, which it was too.
