My 4Runner needs help. Lots of it.

I think I'm coming to terms in realizing I own the most beat up Runner around..lol

I was in an accident about a year ago and am just getting the money to fix it up. I don't even know where to start.

As of now, I have the lower valence and I just ordered the chrome bumper to replace. I still need a door, which is hard to find a decent one for a good price. Any ideas on what to do/easy ways to fix it up would be great!

What about those little pieces under the headlights. See how the one is getting all rusted from getting hit and is bent out? Am I able to take those off and put them back on or how would I go about fixing those?

I've done a fair amount of this stuff and the first thing you need to do is disassemble the damaged area to get a concrete idea of what all your damage is.

A lot of times there is damage that you just can't see until you make her undress. ;-)

You should have no problem rounding up a door but seriously I'd get an estimate from a good bodyman. The damage doesn't look that terrible (at least from the pic) and you might be better off fixing rather than replacing.

I haven't done any body work on a 3rd gen, but just went out in my garage with a flashlight and (at least on a 2002), yes the filler panel is replaceable. There appear to be two bolts holding it on and my guess is removing the headlight you'll be able to get to it easily.

Don't be afraid to start the process of fixing it. Just bag & tag everything and clearly mark what/where it came from.

Too many people just start unbolting things and throwing it in a box and then three weeks later they don't have a clue where things went... Bag and tag EVERYTHING (even stuff you are replacing or that is damaged) because then you have an easy reference.

This door is just really giving me some headaches.

I've gone to a body shop and the estimate I got was over $2,000. I almost passed out. I've had the hardest time finding a door or the door shell. Every website I got on says they have them in stock but when I call, they don't have any.

There's a place up in Cleveland I had someone check out for me called Pull-A-Part. You find the car you need parts from and take it apart yourself. There was a '97 there but my friend said it was completely junked after being there a week. He said the SR5s are really hard to come by and when they get one in, the stuff is gone quick.

So I don't know what to do. I've got so much work to do on this thing its just overwhelming.
