Actually this was her request. When we bought it she said that she want it to look the same as our "TANK" (4Runner), so I'm trying to build her one small "Bradley" :lmao:

After RAV4 was totaled in September (bumper saved my wife and kid !!!) we got ourself another 4Runner - 2001 Limited V6. I'll modify with the same approach as big brother...

I've done 3rd row retrofit on my truck

Basically speaking retrofitted 7-passenger model 3rd row into 5-passenger truck.

Now I know your an engineer and all but....

do you trust your work enough that your willing to bet your children's life on it if you were to get in an accident and your work catastrophically failed?

I build it to withstand big impact. Basically speaking I overbuild it.
With my fab skills and experience, plus extensive engineering knowledge, I'm fine with my design. I followed factory Toyota install and use their parts, but I used higher strength hardware and welded more area then factory spot welds.
I drove by the dealership this morning and they couldn't tell that this was custom retrofited. It looks like the truck left the factory like that.

Rear Bumper Lights modification to tails/stop lights only
As you can see there is a big difference between lighted up and unlighted (right one is not plugged in yet) in a daytime. At night all other 4Runners owners are looking at me as I drive some kind of UFO. Funny, how little DIY project can change the vehicle look.

I should probably look for your write-up on this specific mod.. but is it possible to add additional reverse lighting in the reflectors down below? It would be nice to utilize those two areas with additional white lighting ..
