my 94 4runner died! what do i do now?!?!

something in the engine started making weird noises while i was driving, so i pulled over into a safe parking lot... after having to restart it now and then. sounds like a fan hitting something. ran some listening diagnostics through mechanic friends of mine and now the engine apparently froze up cuz it's not doing anything.

i put a lot of work and love into that truck and i'd hate to see it go, but that may be my best option right now. i mean, versus a new engine.


i'm out in the minneapolis area and would like it to go to someone who can fix it up and appreciate it... or governmentally donate it to someone who needs it.

Did you have the mechanic actually look at the car or you told them what it sounds like?

I know that the "DUMMY" water pump on mine went out and the fan does hit stuff. It is an easy fix maybe you should look into that as well.

i did notice that it looked like oil had been spraying into the alternator. i dont know if that's a tell-tale sign of anything.

if i was you i'd sell that 94 civic hatchback and plonk a new motor in it.
