My '96 with 222k

Hello, Ive been lurking or quiet a while and I have finally decided to post up and ask for sugestions for my rig. It in '96 SR5 3.4L 2wd with 222k miles on it. It was a momobile until it was passed along to me, I am 17.

As of right now, it mainly a school and back car, but I like to have a little fun on the weekends over here locally, but I cant do to much with the 2wd and open diff. so I go screw around with a buddy of mine whos got big 2500 chevy 4x4.

What kind of mods would you sugest for me, I dont have to much money to work with. I was thinking about the dock plate. Im not sure if it would be worth doin much else sense the car has so many mile, but then again it is a Toyota. Thanks for all your help the site has been very helpful just learing about everything that out there.

yes the deckplate mod is a good start along with the isr mod see my sig for pics.. also removing the running boards is a good start
 
Nice picture. ;o) Love the color.

My dad has a '96 with 203K, and I put 100K on it while going to college. It's been passed on to my brother now, and I hope it lasts another 100K. My favorite year is the '96/'97 model, even though I drive an '01 Limited now.
 
What is the ISR mod? I don't know what I'm looking for in the picture.
As for the running boards, I they are going to be gone soon.

Yea Im digging the color too :). everyone knows me by my truck.

HEHE that will always increase gas milage. Im still confused what the ISR mod is, Im going to have to look at it in more detail when I get home this after noon.
 
Well after further investigation, hte ISR seems very simple and strait forward. What is gained from that mod? is it louder? more power?

Then also what will the deck plate mod achieve as well?
 
it will run better now that it can breathe and the isr mod is to replace the 2 big black boxes on the intake wich means it well be louder and a certain point but you gain better throttle response plus it sounds awesome and the deckplate allows more air into the engine wich is a good thing maybe buy a trueflow air filter too from http://www.burtmanindustries.com/index.php

I understand that part. But with the increases airflow to the engine, will it make it run too lean, and be potentially harmful to the motor?
 
no it wont thats the whole point of pulling the efi fuse is for the computer to relearn the new air flow and make changes that are needed

OOO missed that part. how do I find which fuse is the right one?

It actually turned 100k in the garage. heres a cool pic when i it hit 222,222
