The Silver Bruzer - From the Rear

A rear view angle. Don't the new rims make the 4R more aggressive looking than my stock 15"?

Nice, i'm totally feeling the clear corners. Where did you get them...I want a pair! The Wheels looks great.

Thanks for the post! I bought those on Ebay. Just search for "toyota 4runner clear corners" and you should find them once in awhile for the 1999 year model. I bought some xenon bulbs for them and they do look sharp without the yellow lens. Good luck!

Tires

What size tires? Is it a 20 x 10" and do they sit hub centric? Any vibrations or pulling at high speeds? How fast have you gone? Does truck feel more stable with 20's?

Sorry for all the questions, but I too are in the market for 20's and just need some answers and opinions.

Thanks for the post! The wheel is 20 X 8.5 and it is lug centric. The tires are 275/45-20 Yokohama Geolander HTS. They balanced the wheels really nicely with special weights that go behind the spokes and not clipped to the outside of the rims (this keeps it from damaging the lip). There are no vibrations and it balances the wheel very nicely. Once in awhile, I can feel the road more so since these are low profile tires and I can feel the grooves/bumps but going around 80 which I've done, the wheel is rock solid and stable. I do feel more stability and smoothness in the ride with a bigger footprint and when I corner, I don't lean the 4R as much as it used to with my old 265/70-15 tires. So to sum it up, I'm glad I got these 20's because of all the advantages it has brought me in terms of looks (it enhanced my 4R by 100%) and performance (cornering and stability/braking). I would suggest going with 20's if you don't expect to go off-roading at all which I don't do anyway. I'd rather go for looks than functionality in terms of off-roading ( I have a 2WD). Good luck and let me know if you have any further questions.:)

Tires

Thanks for all of your information on your tires. I too am looking for sports rather than off roading for my 01' Limited. I have supercharged it, and upgraded the exhaust and air intake system. I do have it dressed up with JAOS off road products such as the grille guard and rear window spoiler and side steps, but am looking more of that D.U.B style instead of off road. My biggest concern was its ride properties. With my 16's now, I do experience a little vibration and un-stableness even with the wheels balanced 100%. Rumor has it though, and you backed me up that 20's will stabilize the truck alot more. I am actually looking at some Antera's. I will send you pics one I get em on.

Hey..good luck on your selection. Do you have pics of your ride on cardomain or in the gallery here? I'd like to see your 4R. Do let me know once you get the rims coz I like seeing new flavors of wheels rather than just stock. Cheers! ;):
