I'm not quite sure, I was planning on removing the running boards as the first step to making it more of a off-roader. Then maybe a small lift and some bigger tires.
Good looking truck, especially for a first vehicle! Not knowing the truck's miles or condition and such, I'd say to put maintenance at the top of your agenda. Try some light wheeling after said maintenance, you may just want a locker of some sort other than a lift. Arguably has more benefit, depending on the trails you hit, and keeps your height down... it's all about keeping a low center of gravity.

Yeah it's due for some maintenance, need to change the oil soon and maybe look at the breaks. It's got 146k miles on it, not that bad. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into a locker once I get everything else in order.
Oh, and timing belt/water pump if it hasn't already been done. I believe it's 100k miles that it's scheduled for replacement. Look through all the stickied threads, lots of info on lifts/tires, maintenance, etc. These are great trucks, fairly simple to work on even for someone who's new to wrenching, and they're very forgiving ie: If your timing belt fails it won't destroy your valves lol. Just don't expect to break any land speed records with it :lmao:
I've been scrolling through those threads lately, I'm still new to working on cars though. But what better car to start with than a beautiful runner :thumb3:
