My At Home Bumper Repair & Paint

When I purchased the 4Runner, previous owner informed me that he just got the front bumper repainted, but clearly it was a cheap job! Paint started bubbling and flaking off as you can see the pics below. I didn't want to spend $250+ just to have the front valence repainted, all said and done I spent about $80 in paint and materials. I would say its a 98% match or more, you can't tell a difference unless you're looking for it! I'm happy with the results, and saved a lot of money at the same time.

Paint flaking off and comparing the spray bomb that was made up for me.

80 grit

180 grit

400 grit wetsand

600 grit wetsand

Primer
- Wetsanded after 3 coats of primer with 600 grit

Primer Sealer

Looks great! Looks like you'd have to examine it pretty closely to see a difference. What kind of paint did you use? I've been contemplating hitting up my rear mudflaps.

I went to my local Sherwin Williams, brought in the paint code and they mixed it up for me in a spray bomb.
