My Bilstein/FJ Lift: Did they do it right or am I crazy?

Here's the springs pre-install. It's actually the front ones I got from RockAuto, I got these from Ebay, but new from a company with over 72,000 good reviews. They are Moog 81081s.

Before it all settled in I guess, I loved the look. The front was higher.

Looking at the new pic I think it looks ok. Once you put bigger tires on it will look even better. If you plan on keeping anything in the rear of the truck having the rake could be nice.. It will look more level once you have a few things back there.

The only thing I can think of is that the Moog's either have a higher spring rate or are longer than OEM FJ coils (or both). If you're happy with the ride, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Everything I can find checks out. You're the first I can think of to use the Moogs, but those appear to be the right coil.

The coils ride well, but they must have a high spring rate. I tow my boat and the rear barely drops at all. And as far as the stance goes, those pics were taken the day of install, before the front dropped a bit after settling. Odd, because the front are matching springs.

Ark, I was reading some stuff on the DS rear spacers, cuz this rake is killing me!!

You said this in a different thread:

The shop who put mine aren't familiar with Toyotas as much as Jeeps, and followed the installation instructions that came in the box, the instructions for FJs!!!

Could this be the reason my rear is so high??

Nope. I have the FJ Daystar kit too.

If the spacer was listed for an FJ, then they would have had to use the FJ instructions. I'm not going to say it can't be done wrong, but really there's only one way for that to go on.

I went with the FJ spacer on mine too and the rake isn't like yours. It's weird because it does look like you're on the top notch. Only thing I can think of is the V8 weight difference.

This is interesting because it would suggest that those Moog rear springs are worth a good inch or so in lift by themselves.

I have been debating adding the daystar 1.5 to my rear with stock springs so over the weekend I jacked up the back 1.5" just to get a visual of how it would look. But it was definitely not that high.

Why wouldn't you just remove the spacer in the rear to correct the rake instead of ordering new coils?

New coils=time for them to settle... How many miles do you have on them? I think you are getting your boxers in a bunch over nothing here. If they don't settle or you think it is to ass high then remove the spacer. End of story. You ARE supposed to put the bumpstop through the spacer, there's no install difference between an FJ and our 4runners.
Take the spacer out and be done with it. Save it so that if the ass sags down you can shove them back in. Literally takes 30 minutes to do the rears. They are so easy a caveman can do it!

I was surprise in the lift that i get with 0,85" ! look higher to me
