My Build Thread - 2002 Gold Runner

Mine is kept empty in the back unless headed out to go fishing or whatever.
I got them because my wife has a severely arthritic vertebrae and could not stand the rough ride with the Downeys anymore.

You will like the Superflex. I still need to checkout BFAD's Tokico LC rear shocks as I hear they ride nicer than the bumpy Bilsteins.

Good to know. I have LC Trekmaster shocks, so I'm happy to hear that they might work better than the Bilsteins. I've been debating getting some Bilsteins, but I'll just see how the ride is with the new springs.

I still have my alter ego telling me to Supercharge it.......I missed out getting 4-Ripcords...

Damn voices in my head.....LOL!

get it....Do it.....you know you want it...Do it....do it:whipping2

It definitely turns the 4Runner into a whole new beast. I was in a narrow sandy canyon last month going full throttle out of corners--feeling that acceleration and hearing the supercharger sound echo off canyon walls had me sold all over again on the investment. It's fun.

I just read the Thread on the LC Trekmasters and they are rough with no weight on the higway. So, my wife won't enjoy to ride in the Runner with those in the rear. I'll keep my 5100s for awhile.

BFAD, said I had to do a Build thread...So I'm finally starting this almost 11 years after buying my Runner.

Doesn't it feel good to just let it all out?

Really, though, I'm glad you finally put this thing together. It was cool to see the progression of your rig from new off the lot, to where it is today. There are alot of mods mentioned in here that I wasn't aware you had done over the years.

Some where along the way I got hooked on Zainos Polish. The sun in New Mexico eats up Carnuba based polish in a couple weeks. Lot's of UV when you live at 5000 plus ft elevation.

I still need to take you up on your offer to get my Wife's rig all polished up.

I have to Thanks BFAD for coming over to help install the rear Bumper. Sure needed the extra pair of hands to line up the bumper and slide it on the frame.

My pleasure. Glad I could help, and it was cool to check out that Shrocks bumper in person.

This is funny, because Ripcord's supercharger originally came from you, didn't it? You should have just thrown it on the "Golden Goose" instead of selling it.

Yeah, I don't think the OEM LC shocks would be a good idea with your set of circumstances. BTW, just to clarify, the shocks referenced in my thread are Tokico shocks, but they are the black version used by Toyota as OEM parts...

The Tokico TrekMasters are a different product line/shock entirely, and are a light blue-green color, rather than black.

HAHAHA... Did you just name my Runner for me....:zoom::zoom:

Time for an update - some old and some new additions.

Around 2005 I bought a custom leather center Console cover and 4WD Boot.
I finally installed them around the beginning of 2012.

Center Console: I left the original vinyl cover intact underneath the leather.

4WD Boot: This was a Biatch to fit the leather covered wire frame back in.

Here is how my dash is setup.
From top to bottom:
Two ProClip mounts for my phone and Galaxy Tab2.
Pioneer CD/Receiver. (Added in 2007)plus kenwood 4 channel Amp under the drivers seat. I have Alpine speakers in front and rear doors.
Below that is my ScanGaugeII.

By the speedometer I have my remote viewer for my Valentine2 radar detector.

My latest upgrade is a Rockford Fosgate P300-10. 300Amp powered Sub.
With the remote mounted above the gas Door latch.

And the Sub behind the rear drivers side backseat.

This also shows my Canvasback rear cover. It was the first thing I put in after I got the Runner back in 2002.

I can't believe that I didn't see this before - very nice work! Looked great in person that day I saw it but looks even better now!

Really like how those wheels match your 4runner. They do look like they should have came on there from the factory. Good looking rig!

Yeah, it could not have worked out any better..:brick:

The wheels are advertised as "bronze" so I thought they would be a bit darker.
When the Discount Tire Mgr and I opened one of the Boxes to check the wheels we were both amazed at the color match...

Sorry, I have lost all my image files. Comcast decided to kill all the Personnel Web Pages and Storage for their members.
I did not catch this in time to D/L all my files before they killed the storage.....:rockthrow:
