My Burtman Industries Experience

After ordering a pair of cheap clear corners from eBay I wasn’t surprised when I one lense turned a cloudy white and the other had a bunch of moisture in it. Needless to say I checked out Burtman Industries to hopefully help avoid the same mistake twice. They were on sale and cost about $80 with shipping and taxes. I guess most of you are asking yourself “How’s the quality and fit, are they really worth the price?” Well, considering I ordered them on March 2nd you would think I would know by now but alas I am still waiting. I called to check on the order early last week and was told they had to ship them in and they would be here on Friday the 18th. I’ll update you when I do actually get them but needless to say, if you want to order something from Burtman, make sure you give yourself a good month before you actually want the product. I hope other people have had better experiences but mine has started off pretty poor.

that sucks I just ordered some off ebay from neon dials. How long did you have them on before they went bad on you?

I have ordered a couple parts from Jason at Burtman industries and have had a great experience so far! On time delivery and quality products. I did confirm with him on delivery dates as I assumed he was a drop shipper (ie. doing business from house with no warehouse facility, doing his shipping and inventory directly from the factory). On every occasion I have purchased from him I asked him to check on availability and delivery times. He was more than happy to do so. He has also been a wealth of information in selecting products even when ultimately I purchased elsewhere due to budget constraints.

I will definitely purchase from him again.

Ebay corners lasted about a month before they went bad and then only got worse. Some people have had some really good luck with them. I guess I am one of the unfortunate ones. I wouldn't waste my time or money. I'll be happy to post some pictures of my Ebay lenses compared to the Burtman ones when I get them.

I really hope they are all that are promised.

I've had my ebay clear corners and bumper lights for like 8 months now- the clear corners haven't leaked at all are are great, bumper lights are a different story and they are a little foggy cause the seals broke I'm pretty sure but IMO not wroth $80 for a set. I'd rather pick up another 2 or 3 sets off ebay for that price and glue the gasket to make sure it stays sealed. Good luck though!

is there anyway to prevent leaks on my lights before i put them on.I have had nothing but badluck with aftermarket lights in the past.In fact I bought ebay aftermarket taillights for my old sentra and after it rained I looked and seen water in my taillights.I opened up my trunk and my whole audio system was ruined (was into pro audio at the time). So now im weary but the clear corners and signals just look so good on our third gens I had to pull the trigger.

I had good experience with Jason. Before and after product has been sold. Service has been great to me.

I didn't see this post until now, SORRY!
I've been waiting on the container shipment to come in and it's taking longer than I was told. It should have been weeks ago but didn't arrive then. It's in customs right now. It will be released shortly and then they will ship.

For those worried about leaking, I'd advise putting a small bead of clear silicone around the edges/seams before you install. Only on the areas of course where you won't see it after it's installed:)

I just received them in the mail yesterday. Here is my question (note that I am not trying to flame Burtman or his business) but what's the difference between the lenses I purchased from you and the ones from eBay. I have purchased both, they are the exact same. I was able to buy the eBay ones for about a third of the price and they went bad. Am I to be expecting the same from yours? What if they do go bad? I didn't get a receipt or anything besides an email confirmation with the purchase. I guess only time will tell.

Glad you got them. My guy did say he shipped a few out and I wasn't sure which ones he meant.

What I can tell you is, there are about 6 different companies that make these lenses and most "look" identical. What happens is, one factory makes them, then another factory makes them, BUT instead of making their OWN, they copy the first factories design, and mold theirs off the original version, then another company copies that copy, and so on. Everytime you "copy" a "copy", the quality degrades in the seams, other places, they turn yellow, etc, etc... I stand behind what I sell. When you buy from me, you are getting a guarantee and I stand behind what I sell. When buying from auction sites, if something does go wrong later, they aren't always willing to help. You can have piece of mind that I will be around to fix any issues you may have.

Now, I still recommend putting silicone around the edges before install on any aftermarket lens. When I buy these items I know what factories are the copies and which are the original versions. I only try to offer the best I can.

Sorry to hijack but Jason do you sell TJM front bumpers???? I didn't think they were sold in the US anymore...anywhere

You are correct. TJM stopped selling the the US a few years back, but I should be able to take orders again in a few weeks!!! Spread the word. Shoot me an email on what you were looking for.

i have been looking at Burtman for a while since a customer came into the store and he let me check out his 98 limited through and through, and he had some really cool stuff from them, said he had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone, cant wait to do some of my own shopping there

My experience with Jason

Since I got my ’99 SR5 4X4 I have ordered all my stuff from Jason.
I have had no problem and his parts are quality. Nice kid to boot.
My clear corners and signal lenses do not leak either.
Got a wood kit also that looks unreal. Bought the JAOS Euro Style Rear Spoiler from him and have not seen another in San Diego. Far cry from that metal blade and its only $235!

Thank you for the update Jason and the clarification! It helps to have the seller be able to explain what the differences truley are. From the naked eye they do look the same but thank you pointing out the differences.

I will take your advise and apply the seal to the lenses and hope for the best. I don't really want to ever buy a third set of corners. Thank you for the responses.

ebay stuff is hit and miss but my clear corners and signal lenses have been fine for about 6 years now but my OEM headlmap broke a seal so go figure.

Good to hear! And Wrex, I should probably add what I wrote in my reply to the website. Might help out others with those added details. :)
