This is me getting on my box and venting so take it for what it is worth.
I purchased Icon Coil-Overs as well as rear shocks for my 07 4runner through Metal-Tech 4x4 on March 15th of this year. I was quoted a 3 week ship time...This was not a problem for me as i was not planning anything until GSMTR here is in the south which is the weekend of May 17th. Fast forward 3 weeks, i call and am told that they are working on them and should have them in a week and a half....Another week and a half i call and am then told they are not sure when it is going to go out and can not quote a ship time because ICON is running behind.
I call ICON to see what i can do since i am the end consumer. I am told that they will ship in another week and that the order was not placed with them until April 8th....strange since i ordered them March 15th. Call Metal Tech back and they explain (now that i have had to talk to ICON) that they placed a bulk order with ICON and they did not send my 700lb spring coil-over so they placed another. I ask them to expedite shipping one way or another since some one along the way has screwed up. I get a "we will work on it" Finally my CC gets charged i call and get a tracking number (yes i had to call and get it even after all the waiting) FedEx shows delivered two days ago, i plan with a shop to get these installed that night since time is running out...get home...no rear shocks...i freak..Call them no answer for about 30 mins...Call ICON...no rears are available and were not part of that order....finally get a hold of metal tech and they tell me they shipped them separate but failed to give me the tracking number...To top it had to cancel my appointment to use the shop because they did not get here until today ( neither of the components shipped priority, both were shipped ground 1 from fedex (package from ICON) and 1 from UPS (Metal-tech shipped from their warehouse)....
From my experience it is my first and last time ordering from them...Communication is key when running a company... You can't fix ICON's slower build time but you surely can communicate with a customer.
