Was reading the national post and looking around google and found this.

Preview: 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Looks like there IS a 2010 4Runner in Canada, just not yet available to the public. The important part of the article is that it states the car will be available in Canada around mid-December. Thats atleast a full-month behind our american brethren but atleast we now have a rough ETA.

I'm looking forward to this car, i've been waiting nearly 10 years to own a 4runner and despite all the negative things said about it i'm sure i'll like it, being my first SUV and all.

I've grown up in a toyota family with my dad's '95 Avalon being the oldest. It still drives almost like the day we got it with nearly 250,000km on it.

I drive a second hand camry that my family helped purchase so i could get around to work and what not and have been saving and scraping every penny i have towards buying the new 4runner.


When i heard from my local dealer that shipment may be delayed in Canada untill 2010 spring i almost decided to go with another suv (xterra and pathfinder were at the top of my list as they seem to be direct competitors to the 4runner).

I realized after 10 years whats another few months :). So here''s to hoping that it arrives by mid-December, or even better, NOW! :D


Just thought i'd share the info i found on the 4runner for canada with my fellow canucks. :hungry:

Yes you are right. They are already showing 2010 4Runner in Regina, SK from 24 Nov to 28 Nov.
I am going to see it on this 28 Nov and will post the pictures of Canadian 20104Runner and I will try to get a test drive also if possible.

i live about 15 minutes from there. i drove by last week but didn't/couldn't see anything due to the rain. Also i was just looking from my car. I'll stop by again within a few days and see if i can spot any 2010 4runners. Will keep ya guys posted :D


Grimace, are you a lowermainlander too? We've been gettin some crazy rain eh? I'm lookin forward to driving around in the rain with a new 4runner. :D

I'm from POMO. There are a few of us from around here. I just got back from Seattle. The rain was crazy. I actually put it in 4hi.
 
I've been by the port at Silver City a couple times now and both times had a row or two of 2010's sitting there. I didn't see many Trail Editions though. Mostly SR5 and Limiteds.

First time I went by was around Thanksgiving. Second time was just this past weekend. They're hidden behind a crap load of Tacos.

yah i saw the tacos but didnt see the 4runners behind them. dang there were a crap load of tacos there. :hungry:


well. i've got a 2010 4runner TE in Magnetic Gray on deposit at my local dealership so i hope that they let me buy it soon cause im gettin antsy :gun5::ybrick::dammit:
 
Interesting that the article says this:

In addition to managing the torque through these computer-actuated programs, all 4Runners have 2WD/4WD Hi/4WD Lo and part-time 4WD options.

The official Toyota press release said they were all going to be full time 4WD. If there is the option to switch to 2WD, that would be awesome as long as it still has the torsion center diff (or whatever that thing was called).

so even the trail editions in canada will receive the lockable torsen center diffs?

Did they have any literature yet?
Not that I'm in the market for one but I wish they would update the Toyota Canada website. If vehicles are already in port here you would think they would want advertise and sell them.

i put my deposit back in sept? i think or it was late august.

nope, they didnt have any literature on it at the time beyond the file that the toyota employees got. It was a pdf file showing the colors, options, models and specifications of the 2010 4runner.

Yeah, that's what I heard too. What I was pointing out was that the article mentioned that we can select 2WD mode as well but I thought in Canada, they were all full time 4WD.

i thought the torsen center limited diff. was one of the things that everyone really wanted on the new 4runner?

i wonder why only the canadian models will have it throughout the entire line up?

i guess americans will for once be jealous of canadian car options as opposed to canadians always being jealous of american car options. :hungry:
