So i have been tooling with the runner and have done a few of the cheap easy mods.

blacked out the grille, added to dual horn setup, and shaved the SR5 badges. Its only a start.

Eventually leading to blacking out all the chrome on the bumpers, running boards, and roof rack.

3" Lift will probably come this summer along with a set of 18" Rockstarts and larger tires.

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

The horns are definitely a good place to start. A vehicle the size of the 2010 4R should not go "meep-meep" when you hit the horn. Mine should arrive any day now.

With a billboard like that in front who needs a horn! I hope they are paying you well for that advertising. That would have been my first mod....

How easy was it to remove that front toyota emblem? I was thinking about blacking mine how as well...

Lookin' good Mike!
What paint did you use? the satin black Fusion?
I had them paint my Toyota logos body color silver when the body shop painted my TE bumper covers. Still waiting on the rest of my parts from Japan.

its super simple. Just take the top cover off and then you will see three clips holding the toyota emblem on. The surrounding chrome piece has two screws, one on each side then it snaps off. I thank harper7 for the inspiration.

Can you give us a play by play on painting the chrome? How you did it and what paint you used, did you prime? So many questions - so little time!
I really like the look. I am not into the whole chrome deal and would like to work on getting it covered.

LOL...... Just sent my dealer and email about that exact thing. I'll beat them with a rubber hose if they but there brand stickers and decals on my 4R when its delivered.

Yeah that front plate is going to go, but i need to find out a way to fill the holes and make it smooth. Until then it will probably stay. Did you notice that it is put on at a slight angle. :crybaby:

And for how to paint the chrome, harper7 has a good write up in the DIY section. I did it on the cheap (probably bite me in the butt later). Went to home depot and got some rustoleum in satin black. Buff the chrome up with sand paper to give the paint something to bite. Applied paint and let dry. I went with two thick coats and it came out good. If i only had a dust free area to work in.

have not looked at it yet but if you can take the whole piece off does it have a hole there or does the grille mesh go all the way up. If so i would probably take mine completely off and not put it back.
