My First "First"--The New Adventure

Any updates Bob? Glad to see you got to move somewhere warm and beautiful! I really like that First gen. Hope you still have it. Post up a couple pics and an update if you will if you get time. Going to miss wheeling with you up here for sure.

I sure had a lot of fun wheeling with you guys in the Black Hills, too, Tye! Yeah, I've still got this one, although it's been on the back burner for some time as I needed to replace my primary wheels as well. Not making enough here to fund two projects at once, so the car took precedence for now. I'll get some pics up as soon as I start tinkering again.
 
For the record, here's where the money went that would otherwise have gone into the truck. Gotta take care of the everyday driving first. Yeah, it's another old vehicle, but that's just my style. 200hp V6 with 5-spd, nearly perfect original leather interior, one owner (before me, obviously). Just had the outside professionally buffed out to keep her looking sweet. You can see the beast sitting near it, just biding its time.

So what's the haps? I really really want you to get this truck on the trail so you can fall in love with it and quit thinking about going back to a boring 2gen, so lets see some updates!
 
Sorry fellas--just haven't had the same drive for 4-wheeling rigs since I moved from the mountains. Living in this concrete jungle, with no serious trails anywhere near, just saps it outta you. I can drive for hours and not even get out of town, much less see any fun crawling routes. Hopefully the summer will reenergize me (and the bank account), and we'll see some progress on the truck again. Can you tell I want to move back out west?

p.s. Yes, I have been checking out the Moab trip thread with GREAT envy!

You're in construction, right? There's new buildings and road work going on all over Salt Lake right now. I know you'd prefer to end up somewhere a little more rural, but it might help to get you in the ballpark while you make more connections? And hey, I hear there's some guys around here who wheel a little every now and again... when their trucks have motors...
 
Yes, I still have the truck, although it hasn't seen much attention Chuckles89. As you can tell, I haven't been giving the forum much attention lately, either (hence the delay for replying). Just not the same out here in Atlanta--no one I know is interested in four-wheeling, and I haven't had much drive for it lately, either. I probably need to just sell the beast (any ideas or offers?), put the money in the bank, and start preparing for a future move back to the region I love...the REAL mountains of the west. Hey KidV, I may be looking for job updates later next year! I still can't get past the idea of Grand Junction, CO as a serious stopping point, right between the mountains of CO and the canyons and red rock of UT. Anyway, sorry for the long absence and lack of updates.
