I finally hit my 15 posts so it's time to really introduce myself!
I just picked up my first 4runner (first toyota as well, in fact, first SUV actually)
Details:
1999 Limited
3.4l Automatic (bummer)
TRD Supercharger (not a bummer)
E-locker

Previous owner did a lot of maintenance work to it, it has new front axles, new shocks, new front control arms, and when I was laying under it taking the running boards off I was shocked at how completely rust free it is. It must be from the west coast because it's pristine underneath. On long island every other t4r I looked at was obviously used as a beach truck for years and were rust disasters, this one looks like it's never seen winter.
The day I bought it
In the 2 days I've had it I've removed the running boards, rain guards, and the tail light brush guards
As it sits now
A few other random pics, haven't had it very long and by the time I get off work I'm rushing to get home to get some work done to it in the daylight. I'm going away for a couple weeks on friday but when I get back I'm going to take some good photos of it.
I'm planning on doing a very small lift, maybe just highlander springs, and getting 265/75's at some point before the winter. For now this is just my daily/winter vehicle as my BMW M Coupe needs a throwout bearing (among other things) and my M5 needs a thermostat (cannot win with BMW's I guess), but next year I'm going to use it as a camping/road trip vehicle and maybe get into some overlanding. It has a little bit of a clunk from the front end, I think tie rods or ball joints, so fixing that will be my first real project.
Anyways, glad to be on this forum, it's already been a HUGE help in my many months long search for the right truck and I'm sure it will be a huge help in the future as I maintain/upgrade/repair it.
