My First time to Moab -yay -

Hey guys wife and I stoped in for a day trip to Moab , it was awesome . first off we took our stock 15 Le with the only mod was stock size ko2 17" and tko wheels if you can call wheels and tires a mod. The first day we did the Gemini bridges and then bull canyon , the second day we went looking for the lost canyon , but some how winded up following a jeep commercial being filmed on the m&m trail that eventually turned into the uranium arch trail that is a blue moderate trail .

but anyway it did great except for scraping the front bumper once and the running boards a couple of times . We got to where uranium arch trail splits and drops straight downhill . had an lifted atv guy tell me he was shocked I made it this far and he would advise me to go back I'm am very impressed with what this little t4r can do . Also just Left it in regular 4hL almost the whole time

Don't worry, I did the same thing 2 weeks ago. Didn't have time to get sliders, so better have these running boards than nothing...

Actually, no, you're better off with nothing than running boards. Running boards limit ground clearance and will cause body damage that wouldn't happen otherwise.

I actually took the running boards off before we left but there pretty thick and sturdy aluminum ,so i decided to leave them on , I figured it would be better than nothing also and they only hang down like 1" from the body anyway . They are adjustable for height

Until you hit a rock and they get jammed up into your sheet metal or rockers....

Yep.

You high center on a ledge (common around here, even with big lifts and tires) without running boards, you are sitting on your frame rails and the body is an inch or so away from rock. With running boards, hanging lower than the frame rails, they will crush the body panel they are attached to until they are at the same level of the frame rails.

My SR5 has the same rocker trim as your limited, and I can personally confirm these comments. Mine wasn't a vertical hit; it was a dragging hit on the front driver's running board bracket. It bent the sheet metal under the rocker panel. You can't see it from the outside, but it definitely makes uninstalling and reinstalling the boards a pain... which I now do every time I go offroad.
