I found this beautifully maintained 4Runner in this very forum. I actually bought it in late August/early September and have been lurking around since. I flew down to Orange County and drove it back up to the Pacific Northwest where I live.
I used to have a '99 Cherokee that I loved, but this car absolutely blows it out of the water by magnitudes.
Some initial observations:
-The V8 is super smooth and quiet which I love and prefer over the V6. Gas mileage is what the window sticker lists which is right smack in the middle at 16-7mpg in mixed use driving. I use regular gas per the manual.
-I've driven the new Denalis and such, but they don't compare to the build quality, refinement and overall experience. The engine is much rougher and more audible in the American V8s and the interior is still suspect compared to the Toyota.
-I like the bigger interior of the 4th gen over the 3rd. It's really the perfect size for me and my needs (single guy). I really like the bigger center console/armrest.
-I added some stuff to it, but my favorite feature is the back-up camera and autostart.
I plan on keeping this car for a long time. A big thanks to the seller and a big thanks to you guys for the content.

Yea, I'm really digging the bigger wheels. I'm sometimes tempted to powdercoat it black and paint all the silver parts black, but I'm just too lazy to do it.
