Hey guys. I just picked up an '01 4Runner SR5, went to fill it up, and just before I filled the tank, gasoline began flowing from the tank in large amounts. I'm assuming there's a hole in the top of the gas tank, but I thought I'd run it by you and see if this has happened to anyone else. If the tank's half full, it's fine, but when it's full I'm leaking gas as I drive. How dangerous/neccessary is this to fix right away? Does it affect performace at all? Thanks a lot.

With price of gas - I'd fix it fast. My 03 has a plastic tank - had a friend put a stick (log?) thru side of his off roading. Yours may still be metal - could be rust at top or the rubber filler neck is cracked. Just got it - NO 30 day warrarnty?? Could be few hundred if have to replace tank and surely PO knew about it.
