Looks nice

But why the square woofers? That would totally screw up the reflex causing lots of dark boom, but no punch.

What is the manufacturers stated reasoning for this?
 
solo bariks are supposed to be competition subs right? as in loud as hell correct? I know Kicker makes alot of their subs square like that.

Square speakers means a larger surface area. Larger surface area means larger distortion which generally means more boom for less power. Generally to counter balance you would need like a 10" sub to give you the initial hit and then the Square monsters take over for sustenance.
