My friends just bought the cleanest 3rd Gen limited I've ever seen!!

I have a married couple who are both friends of mine.

They bought a 98?, I think it was. It has 110,000 miles or so on it. It is a white Limited with leather, and came with a stack of all maintenance records, brand new belts, receipts for all new fluid's being changed in the last few weeks in preparation to sell the vehicle, and absolutely no rust.

What a beauty!!

I have no idea how the guy kept his engine bay this clean.

If that was for sale up here in the PNW it would be around 7k-10k (depending on dealer/private). Let's all take guesses before he answers.

and a 2x4 would work just fine for me as I would never engage 4x4

Well it's at least a 99+; you can tell by the radio/ac bezel.
'96-'98 goes clock-vent-vent
'99-'02 goes vent-clock-vent

I have no idea how people can keep the interior of their vehicle so clean and scratchless, without simply not driving it.
Even my extra keys scratch up the bezel a bit, but I've seen trucks with far more mile than mine that are scratch free. Just everyday life leaves minuscule scratches that add up.

That, and the digital ODO, fat lip bumper, engine bay fuse cover, and center console (near e-brake) are all indicators of 99+. Someone with better 4Runner-fu than me might be able to narrow it down to an exact year. Something about the headlights looks different.

Ask the previous owner how long ago it was in the front end collision.

Note missing bolts on BOTH front fenders, missing VIN stickers on BOTH front fenders (flash could be hiding them, I suppose), brand new fan, discoloring of BOTH front airbags (could possibly be from flash), new belts, new pulleys, new timing belt cover, new bolts, etc. etc. etc.

I hope I am wrong, but the alternator pulley bolt looks like the only "honest" piece of this puzzle.

Well i know its not an 01-02 Limited without front seat heaters.

Seat heaters aren't needed much in central texas Except to bring the pizza and other food home HOT - woohoo! :cowboy:

It's a '99-'00. The grill changed a little for '01. They put a black stripe on the center cross bar. I think the headlights stayed the same but the grill makes it look a little different.

Also, I just noticed the BMC reservoir looks the same as my '98. I seem to recall they transitioned to a different BMC in '01 to play nice with VSC or some other electronic silliness.

Very nice, must have been garage kept.

Must have forgot to change that pesky brake fluid, thus not all fluids were changed.

I don't think it was involved in a collision, instead the steamer guy got overzealous with the steamer and killed the alternator, but looks like he reused the OEM pulley. Given the Gatorbacks used it must have been Stir_Fry_Boy.

I hate Georgia fans.
