My friends just bought the cleanest 3rd Gen limited I've ever seen!!

Regardless of everything else, you have to admit, it LOOKS great.

Just out of curiosity, what's the ballpark of having a detailer make a really dirty engine bay turn into that? I'm not saying that's what happened here since it might have just been maintained well/cleaned well, but just for my sake.

No idea what it'd cost, but it better come with a warranty in case they ruin anything...

I've personally used Simple Green with great results. I covered the alternator, battery, and fuse box with plastic bags, misted the whole engine bay with the water hose, then hosed it down like crazy with SG. Let it sit for a few minutes, Misted it again to get it damp, then SG'd it again. Scrubbed most every accessible part with a nylon brush and then rinsed it all off with the water hose mister.
Used electrical contact cleaner on all of the connectors to force any water out, and dabbed with a towel to get most of the water dry.
The alternator, battery, and fuse box can be cleaned by spritzing with alcohol and scrubbing like crazy with the nylon brush, then spritzing again.

Let it sit hood up in the sun for about 20 minutes, then started it up, belts squealed for a moment, then that was it.
Not as perfect as this, but definitely very clean.

As far as I know, that is the case. I've been wrong before.

I'm pretty sure that these fuse box covers vary from model to model and year to year.

Sure hope they didn't think they were getting a 4wd truck with this purchase. If so, the next thing they might be buying is a bridge.

I'm assuming they knew and they don't really have much use for a 4wd vehicle.

Tell your friends I think the truck is beautiful EVEN THOUGH ITS A 2WD. Maybe we need to rename this site "T4R4X4ONLY.ORG" and that way the lowly 2wd guys can start a new forum..... I have a F-ing badass 2wd. I live in flat ass N FL and have absolutely no use for 4wd. Every time I see a post that has a 2wd it turns into a bash session. There is probably more 2wds out there than 4wd (at least where I live for sure) and WE like to maintain our rigs too.

2WD or 4WD, it's in GREAT shape! I hope to get mine that clean one day... After I'm done with all the mods... I guess that means never...
