I drove behind my friend at several different distances & angles, and he said it's not blinding him (even less blinding than stock BMW headlights because they're still aimed a little low).
I was worried about the glare because I didn't paint my housing black, and the light reflects off the chrome. If you look at the second picture in the last post, you'll notice that the reflection off the chrome housing is minimal.
The ballasts I used were Denso HID Ballasts (Factory Toyota)
The bulbs were Phillips 4100K for maximum output.
The projectors were Audi A6 single low beams.
Please let me know what you think, and don't hesitate to ask any questions. If I can do this, anyone can. IMO, it's the best way to get the most output while still being considerate to other drivers on the road.

This is one of the mods I am thinking of doing in the future. I am just not sure of the possiblity of having to separate the headlight lens and housing.
Mind if I ask how you separated the headlight lens and housing? Most people use ovens set at some temperature for some length of time. What worked for you?
Second how did you secure the projector in the housing? Is it secured to the original reflector? And how are you adjusting the height of the beam? With adjustments built into the projector or with the OEM reflector?

Thanks for the compliments. 
I was also afraid of tearing apart the lights. That's why I bought a new pair to play with. Most people like to use an oven to heat up the glue holding the headlights together. That method intimidated me so I used a heat gun. It takes a little longer, but this way, I had the heat where I wanted it.
I secured the projectors to the OEM low beam reflector. I basically aligned them as best as I can so that they are centered and level on every plane. I secured them with 4 screws. Once secured, you can use the OEM adjustment screws in the headlight to adjust them up and down, left and right, and make sure the high beams are also level.

This is something I would like to do, but wasn't sure about the headlights coming apart.
So heating them up, does allow you to get them apart?
That method sure doesn't work on the tail lights!!
I tried to get them apart for my LED mod, and the glue wouldn't even get tacky at all.
Good to know that it does work on the headlights. I like the clear corners too
So what did this total project cost, if you don't mind me asking?

The HID ballasts and bulbs costed me almost $300.
The projectors were $150.
The extra headlights were $150.
Miscellaneous items probably added up to $75.
So i would guess almost $700.
It was well worth it. Thanks for the compliments!
P.S. cdoyle, you should wait for the 2006 4runners with the led tails. I dont think it'll be hard to swap them out. That's next on the list for me.

how do I know? because I've been though it all and what I ended up was blacked out headlights with HIDs. Although the projectors would've been what I wanted.. I didn't feel like spending more hours on my headlights..
