My lift needs adjustment/reverse rake

I've got Fox 2.5 CO's in the front with 2.5" of thread showing. I'm trying to determine if this is my actual lift height or something else. Anyone know the actual lift height with that amount of thread showing?

My rears have Fox 2.0 with T13 springs which gave me 1.5" in the back. I have a 1" reverse rake which I'm not sure if my springs are sagging or I'm up 3" in front and only 1.5" in the back. No extra weight in the back but 2 dogs worth, roughly 150lbs.

I'm thinking about switching the springs to Icon 2". Will I have to switch out the rear Fox shocks to the 2-3" shocks since the ones I have are for 1-2"?

The reverse rake is getting ugly, so I need some clarification on best course of action or an idea of how much lift I have in the front.

What are your front and rear height measurements?

That is quite a bit of preload on the front coilovers. To get rid of the reverse rake, you can lower the front down some (decreasing the amount of preload), in conjunction with a higher lift rear spring.
 
take some measurements from the center of the hub (or ground but include tire size) to the bottom of your fender flares and we can begin to get an idea of how much lift you have. Like it was said you've got those coils preloaded quite a bit, but we also don't know what kind of weight you're running or what your coils are rated at.

So you could, as stated earlier, get higher lift rear springs (which may compromise ride quality with no additional weight, depending on the spring choice). The regular Icon springs alone will probably not make up the difference compared with what you already have.

You could also add a 1-1.5 inch rear spacer on top of your existing spring. Or if you get the Icon springs, you could always add an additional small spacer/1 or 2 trim packers ect if needed...

Not too familiar with the pros & cons of these, but maybe some air bags?

I know, I apologize for starting another similar thread. But, now I have a few more specific details and was really curious about the front shock measurement and if anyone could determine how much lift was attained by the thread count.

So, my measurements are as follows from center of hub to bottom of wheel well:

Driver front: 22 7/8"
Driver rear: 22 1/4"

Passenger front: 23 3/8"
Passenger back: 22 5/8"

So, 5/8" reverse rake on the drivers side and 3/4" on the passenger side. This was measured while I had my dogs in the back. No other accessories but an Ecotechne roof rack.

I don't know what the spring rate is for the Fox CO's, but the T13's are 195 lbs.

If you don't want to jack with light front lean/front coilovers, I'd just upgrade the rear springs to at least 2in and a higher spring rate

Thanks for the measurements! Yeah, the rear is definitely lower than I was thinking it would be with T13's.

Springs like the Icon or Toytec Superflex should get you around 24 inches in the rear. I've had both, and they were both about the same height-wise. I would try that for sure.

Thanks. I wonder if I need to change my rear shocks now if I increase the spring height?
 
Looks fine to me, I'd just lower the front COs to 1.5-2.0 inches thread showing and start there before moving to more involved steps. Decreasing your preload would go a long way for ride comfort too.

Ok, I thought so looking at the pics. That's a big tire to stuff into a 2in lift. Definitely, upgrade the rear springs. I'd want a full 2in up front as well which your numbers look close to...To be honest, I still think you are going to have some rub up front when stuffed...

I may be able to adjust the fronts a bit, but I would rather keep the height of the lift in front where it sits. The ride is very nice, though I only can compare to the stock set up.

I just had the wheels and tires put on Friday. I had some rubbing issues at full turn on the fender liners, which I modified this morning, and now I'm having no issues.

So, Icon 2" springs I'm thinking. The spring rate is only 5 lbs. more than the T13's. Is there a better option?
 
Yes, they're the fox 2.0 performance series for 0"-2" lift. So, no need to move up to the 2"-3" lift shock?

If the shocks are suggested for 0-2'' lift, you should be fine with a 2 inch lift spring, but you may want to check w/ Fox to verify.

If you're around 23 inches in the front, you already have a 3+ inch lift up there. Stock 4Runners are usually 19-20''.

In the rear, a stock 4Runner is usually in the 21-22'' range, so you didn't get much lift at all from the springs you have now.

With the 2'' Icon's you will definitely be in the 24'' "range"...

I'm running a 3in lift suspension w/armor at ~ 24in front and 25in rear fender to hub measurement today for reference...

Another quick question for anyone so I don't have to start a new thread. Is there a way to reduce the preload on my coilovers but still maintain the ride height? I've been doing a little searching and looks like it's possible to switch out to a longer/stiffer spring to reduce the preload? It's been a confusing read with varying opinions.

Looking at other people's Coilovers, looks like people are achieving their desired height with a lot less preload. :shrug:
