well, was my mustang. totaled as of 3/3/2010

doubt much of you guys care, just wondering if any mustang guys were on here as well.

i miss this thing :cry2:

Well, i was gonna say that it certainly was a nice Mustang, but then i notice your excellent photography skills! Very nice!

Silver lining? Good reason to get the 2011 Mustang GT 5.0...or the 31 mpg 2011 Mustang V6!

im actually planning on picking up another Blue 98 in a week, identical to this one but with a V8 and Manual trans

honestly the damage didnt look too bad. but it was $5200 in damages, which was a ton more than it was worth. plus i only had liability insurance on it, so i sold it to a body shop manager for $1000 cash. technically wasnt "totaled" since i never went through insurance. about a month ago, i found it fixed and sold on Craigslist for $3k.

shoved my radiator support into the pullies, cracked hood, airbags deployed.

Well, some people think so, but not really. Not many Mustang fans liked the Mustang II, but they have to realize that without the Mustang II, the Mustang heritage might never have survived all these years. I've always been a big Mustang fan and I can honestly say that the Mustang II is my least favorite design by a long shot, but I still appreciate it because it kept the Mustang alive.

A little-known fact about Ford's plans for the Mustang in the 80's: Remember the Ford Probe? It was originally supposed to be a replacement for the Mustang. Early prototypes actually had Mustang emblems on them. When word got out that Ford was going to turn the Mustang into a jellybean shaped car with a 4-cylinder front-wheel-drive powertrain, Mustang fans flooded Ford with letters and phone calls telling them not to do that to the Mustang. And I guess it worked because Ford continued the Mustang as a RWD car with an available V8 and built the new "Probe" to sell along side it.

To this day, the Mustang is the only American pony car/muscle car that has been produced uninterrupted from its inception. I don't think you can say that about any other iconic car, not even the Corvette (which wasn't sold in 1983).

Thank god it's still around, because now all these old guys that couldn't have one when they were 16 can buy one when they are 50 or 60. At least they don't pass me in my 4Runner so much, as they drive well. It's the 20 somethings in their fart-exhaust Neons that try to show me up.

That's funny....

But actually, I think a lot of the older guys you see driving them today are guys who had one in the past and want to revisit their youth. That's why the retro styling was such a huge success for the Mustang. If you park a 2005+ Mustang next to a first generation Mustang, the resemblance is remarkable for a car that is ~40 years newer.
 
The new ones do look nice, and I'm glad to see them on the road. My dad wants a Corvette, though, and has since he was 16. I guess he wants to re-visit his youth, although all he could afford then was a Ventura. Myself, I like trucks, and the bigger the better. I can't wait to hear the screams when I'm 60 and driving a F-650 around all these young people on Segways.
 
Nice mustang, sorry you lost it. Plan on getting another anytime? Love my '03 Cobra, never been a Mustang person before it but I respect everything.
 
i test drove a new 5.0 mustang manual trans and loved it. I am torn now on what to buy. I think i will keep my 03 4runner and either get a new mustang or Lexus GX 460. I had a 88 mustang Gt 10 years ago but it was totaled when a drunk hit it. I like your new Cobra.
 
You already have an SUV with the 4runner. Go out and get you a new 5.0, or even better a new 2012 Rousch.

Save your money and get the Mustang 5.0!!
