My names Patrick and that's my Les Schwab story. PISSED

T4R group, Instead of reading it all. The Alignment tech bent my skid plate to access my alignment cams instead of removing it the proper way then didn't bend it back. Cheep Shoddy workmanship, now go look at the pictures

Hello Casey, I found your contact information via all the negative reviews left on google about Rexburg Les Schwab tire center store.

Today I finished up my suspension and steering job on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner which included rebuilding King Coilovers shocks, powder coating the springs, CV axles, Inner and outer tie rods. (A lot of money and high end equipment) After my work I took it to Les Schwab to get an alignment. An hour later I received a call back that my SUV was finished. Walking back to the store I saw my truck packed and as I was walking to the front door I could clearly see that the skid plate had been severely bent on ether side.

I went into the store, paid for their services for a alignment ($56.25) and walked out to my vehicle. Before I drove away I wanted to inspect the bent skid plate. I took that attached pictures at this moment and was discussed by their low quality of workmanship my their alignment tech Allen who performed my alignment. The workmanship was one of fast in and out as fast as you can to get the job done. He bent the skid plate as opposed to removing it to gain better access to the alignment cams.

Angry and discussed by the work I went back inside to the front desk and said " you bent the shit out of my skid plate doing the alignment". None empathetic lady called for the tech Allen to come up front. Once again I said those exact same words to him and he had nothing to say. Not wanting to resolve the problem at all. With no help from the front desk or service tech I walked back out to my vehicle, Looked it over some more and cooled off. Then went back inside apologizing to those I swore to and asked for the manager (Neal) who was worthless but more help than the front desk or service tech. We discussed the service that was performed and Neal offered to pull the vehicle back into the bay and bend back the skid plate that was destroyed by the alignment tech Allen.

I was not happy with that response and told him I would do it myself and left the store.

I then went to the Toyota dealer a couple of blocks down the road to discuss getting a second opinion on the service. I now have an appointment in 2 days (Friday) And I still have to figure something out with my skid plate.

Overall the quality of work that was performed by the service tech and the less than helpful people at Rexburg Les Schwab tire center will make me never want to visit them again. Nor another Les Schwab for that matter. The dealer only charges $10 more for an alignment and they have a much higher quality of work and customer service.

In short. I would like a refund for my service and the store owner ( don't know his name) and manager (Mike) to seriously discuss the future of their employees and how the customer service is run at this store. Based off other reviews I have read online via Yelp, Google, Angie's list. I not the first person to be disappointed by this store. (Casey I have seen and read your replies to their reviews so you know what I am talking about)

Being a mechanic at a high end import shop in Missouri for 4 years prior to college. I know bad workmanship when I see it. And this fit the definition perfectly.

Thank you Casey for my long winded review

Not just bent, entirely torn. Wow. This is why I don't use Les Shwab for anything. Discount Tire for tires and Firestone for alignments.

Man that sucks. I hate all alignment shops. Last alignment I removed my skids so they had better access. In past I have had them slip due to improper tq.

That's astonishingly bad. How the hell can any place stay in business doing work like that. Extra shitty that it's the one bit of work you couldn't and didn't do yourself. Stick it to them hard man.

Ok I'm confused.

You're Parrick
Manager is Mike
Alignment tech is Allen
Store owner is unknown — but not Casey.
So who the f*** is Casey?

Btw, congrats on keeping your cool with them as they stood around all glassy-eyed doing nothing. I'd like to think I would do that too ... be cool that is — I already stand around all glassy-eyed doing nothing.

Ah ok now I got it!

Typical les schwab
Your lucky he even attempted to adjust your camber/caster
I worked at les schwab in Napa ca for 8 years and as far as alignment techs go its always hit or miss if you even get there actual tech
It could have just been the kid who does tires and floats back and forth
Les schwab is a massive Corp you will never get the owner les cause he's dead and his 3 kids who now own the company could care less about anything else but there money
If the manager of the store was no help sorry to say but that's as far as your complaint is gonna go
Just make sure you talked to the manager and not the assistant manager
Managers are usually never in the store they are always out at "meetings" aka golfing with other managers
This is terrible to see but besides maybe a refund and like they already offered to "fix" the bends then that's all they will do
It's rare to find a schwab employee with experience cause they pay shit
So usually techs are just kids like I was who started doing tires at 18 and then slowly moved to doing alignments then being a road service tech.
And I say most cause some stores have guys who actually have stuck with the company for more than a couple years and like being there underneath an alignment rack all day
I used to have to go to other stores in our area and help guys learn to read an alignment printout cause they would just see green and assume it was good or just do toe and go's
Again sorry to see this but typical les schwab

Oh and "Casey" is probably could just be the manager of the store replying to unsatisfied customers under another name cause he obviously already pissed them off
My old manager used to do it all the time

Lmfoa ^.

But wtf dude. I swear some shops are straight up f****** working. God knows if he even tighten the bolts down properly. And seriously how can you do that to a customer? Like how lazy can it be to not remove a skid plate ? I mean come on dude. I would of gave the guy a new *******. I don't care. Make them/him refund your money and go to a dealer And get a quote for a new skid plate. Go back to the shop and demand money for a new skid plate. Because that's straight bull shit ( I'm so mad bro ) yea it's a skid plate. But it's the fact that it got demaged because of some "mechanic" being a idiot and it wasn't your fault. Seriously don't let them walk all over you. You shouldn't have to remove anything of a car for a shop to work on. Period.

I'm really happy I have two friends, brothers. Who are amazing at working on cars. Absolutely amazing. Can do anything you want. They both work at a local shop. But outside of work they have a garage with lift and every tool you can imagine. One brother knows how to fab and weld. Owns a 93 single turbo supra and 89 bmw with 1jz, me and him just wired in a 2jz harness and Pcm and got it running. The other brother owns a bmw single turbo. I never let anyone touch my 4Runner but them. They have swapped my 3.4 for free, fixed my whole front end for free minus the parts. Never charge me for anything but parts. And get discounts for parts through their shop. Unfortunately not everyone has friends like this.

You could also go and tell them you want to file a accident/incident report and have them buy you a new skid plate or pay you something
But idk since you already left the store
They could try and say someone else touched it already idk
But that is worth a shot

they admitted they bent it, "sometimes its easier than risking trying to remove and break bolts"

Yeah true
But schwabies are just taught to "get it done" and although you pay for an hour alignment he probably only spent 20-30 min on your rig then they waited to call you.
They push you to rush and do things fast
And as we all know rushed anything is never good

I screen shot your post and I'm going to send it to a schwab manger I'm still cool with see if he can tell me what else if anything you can do.
