My navigation Unit Installed; dash kit. Need help! Bad experience

Hello, Today I bought a navigation system and camera from a local audio shop.(eclipse avn 5435) The only reason I bought it, is because the guy had told me that it will look just like a stock navigation and it is better then the toyota navigations are made by eclipse fujitsu anyways. and he said if it doesnt fit he can put a dash kit to make it look factory. Well it takes the guy about 2 hours to install it and then tells me installation is 150 but i tell him i want to look at it first. When I go to look at it, it has that ugly black stuff around the navigation and he said that was the best he could do, so when i ask him about the dash kit he told me that he found out when they were installing it that they dont make it for a double din unit. At that point i got mad becuase he basically talked me into getting it so he could probably get some comission off me and then tries to charge me 150.00 for installation. So i tell him im not paying for installation as he lied to me and we had this big argument till i finally told him that i didnt want it anymore and to refund my money and take it out. so he just let me go w/o paying for the installation! So my question to all the eclipse navigation owners is that are there any dash kits yall put on to make it look factory or anything i can do, becuase that black is really bothering me, and if not i want to sell this unit and get a oem one; even if it cost a little more. Maybe even trade with somone. Please help. some pictures of how your units turned out will help also.

Scosche makes a kit for filling in the gaps on the sides of your head unit. Part is TA1465B.

I will post pics tommorow after my cal test. I have to study for that. Does that piece come in the silver to match the surrounding parts.? Or any other parts that anyone else has used... I was also looking around the net and found this

I dont know if this would work as its not a double din, but does it matter becuase this unit is pretty much the same size as the stock radio

i got some pics of how i cut a piece of plexi glass to fit it ill post it tommrow it cost me about 1 buck to put in just took time to router it out i used a cnc machine to computer route it out but u can also do this with razor blades might take a little longer

No, this won't work. It's for a single DIN and is a generic mounting kit. If you're installing the AVN-5435, the pieces I noted above are what you need. They install on the left and right side of the unit to fill in the gaps where the stock radio was. With these installed, you're getting as close to factory appearance as possible. They're black because the dash area immediately around the unit is black.

holy crap man, how many extra batteries do you need to power all that? It looks really cool though!
