My new $4 Home Depot mesh grille...check it out

So after seeing everyones new mesh grilles, i decided to try it out since they seem pretty simple to make. Here is the before:

and after.

Eventually the chrome will be painted to match the body.

Should i go with the mesh OR get a lower billet grille and paint the upper & lower black...anyone done this?

I think the mesh looks better as a backing on 4th gen grilles, not as a full replacement, especially on a 3rd gen. I would go with the billet and paint it black.

yeah... the local consensus here in San Diego is black billet upper and lower as well... but $4 test fit doesn't hurt.

Yeah I have seen that billet grille & the chrome surrounding painted black before, and it looks pretty good!

I liked the before....

Seemed to me there was nothing wrong with the before shot.. but if you are going for an all black look that is awesome.

That high quality grille can be found in the rain gutter section. Its the famous gutter guard grille. good luck...really is pretty easy.

I plan on doing this mod just to keep bigger debris from the radiator but I might just mount it behind the grill but you won't see it.
