Hey all. 1st post!
I picked up a 92 6cyl 5spd two days ago as a DD - Father/Sons project. I think this is a great project for kids to learn on. Cheap parts, easy to fix.
This was a 1 family car since brand new. 235,000 miles and they gave me a stack of maintenance records since new. Most work done at Midas and Sears Auto.
It appears to have the usual issues like rusty bumper behind the mud flaps, rusty rear window tracks in the tailgate (I found this out AFTER replacing the motor), noisy power steering pump, saggy rear springs, needs the speed sensor, will needs tires before the winter comes.
Runs 100%. No knocks or ticks, shifts beautifully. I love it so far. The only thing I don't like is the lack of leg room. I'm 6'4" and it's a little tight in there.
The paint was in awful shape. I don't think it had been washed in several years. I hit it with a little Meguiars cleaner wax today but it needs something a little more aggressive in some spots.
