I just drove home with this:

It has a lot of miles (195K), the front seats need to be replaced and the inspection has lapsed, but it was FREE!

This is my first T4R.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, the hood has a few hail dings and the front passenger door has a few dings, but overall it is in pretty good shape!!

Yeah, hopefully it wont cast too much to get it back into great shape once again! Does anyone have any recommendations as for replacement seats? I would prefer leather, but they can be cloth as well (although, if it were cloth, then I'd probably replace both rows...).

if your looking for just the top skins of the seats there was a guy on ebay not to long ago that had leather skins for all seats. price was around 400-500 dollars.

I was digging through the folder of paperwork that was given to me with this truck and found the original window sticker, so here are the specs:

4Spd Auto
2WD
Leather and stereo packages
Other stuff

I would be interested to see how much it would cost to replace or recover the seats. Mine kind of need it.

Soo.....does anyone have any experience with towing heavy loads with these things? I would like to tow my wheeling rig....total weight would be about 5000lbs (including trailer). Will the tranny hold up to this weight?

I wouldn't do it. I think the rated towing is 5,000 lbs.

Even 5,000 would be a little too much. You would probably need a tranny cooler.

Ahh....installing a tranny cooler is not a problem. I wonder if there are any good tranny swaps for these things...

Ok, I spent all day installing the new carpet. Here are some pics of the finished product:
(Front area..yeah, reupholstering is on the list for the front seats)

It was a pain in the ass, but I think it turned out quite well!

Nice 4Runner, I'm not real crazy about the new carpet though, I would've went with gray.

It's difficult to tell, but the majority of the interior is tan (including the seats) and the rest is brown. The carpet doesn't match perfectly, but I didn't really need it to...
