My new 99' 4Runner Limited

I am totally new to 4Runners but not new to Toyotas. After many fail attempts wheeling events with my 2wd 07 Tacoma I finally decided to buy a dedicated 4x4 trail rig. I got her with 98K miles for 9.5K OTD.

I ordered Stubbs Sliders HD SKO last week and just ordered my Shrockworks front bumper today. I already put 265/75/16 Hankook Muds on her. :biggrin2:

Has Shrockworks upgraded their customer service lately? I can't justify a 6 month wait for a bumper. :wow: Thankfully, Jim, let me put a deposit down first and when it ships I would have to pay the rest. :cool:

And here is the new 4Runner!! :hungry:

I think the wait is down to under 4 months now for the bumper according to peoples feedback on here. I hope its true as I will be ordering one in a few months.
 
I think you will love your T4R, as I am seeing and hearing from different places the 99 is one of the better years to have. So far I would say that I agree with that as I love my 99 Limited. :trophy:
 
Are you going to remove the hitch for departure angle or just use it as a slider? :wink2:

sweet ride i love my '99, talk to shrockworks about paying a little more for expedite he said for $100 or so more he could have mine to me in like 3-4 weeks.
 
I would call up Steve at Sonoran steel on the suspension setups while you waiting on the bumper.

as for Stubb's sliders, if I have to do it all over again, I would put on 1" body lift so you have more clearance between the legs and the pinch welds.

good to see another 99'er.
 
Hmm..that's really interesting about paying more for the bumper to get it faster. I think I'll give him a call about it.

Well that sounds real fair (hmmhmm). So all the people who already put in their request and had their deposits collected get to wait even longer while mr. moneybags gets to cut in line. Money talks and bullshit walks, huh?

yep such it life man, such is life, expedite is a term you need to learn, every company/shop/retailer does it they just don't talk about it for the most part.


learn the terms lead time and expedite esp, when talking with weld,body,paint,fab,shops.

I ordered my Shrockworks sliders and front bumper just before the new year and had the sliders in about a month and the front bumper by the end of February.

Jim was very helpful and honest about the timing - when I ordered them he promised I'd have the bumper by the end of April and told me he **thought** it would be a fair bit sooner.

Sounds like I've had one of the shortest lead times of anyone to receive the bumper. I think they've gotten most of their production problems sorted out and should be able to give good lead estimates from now on.

BTW - very nice 4R! Look forward to seeing the progress.

Seems like their customer service has improved since 2007-2009. Hope to see my bumper in about 2 months. He hasn't charged me the deposit yet though which is kinda worrying me. :shrug:
