She is a 96 4x4 Limited and she is my first 4runner :thumb3:


She has 160k but she was taken care of by an aircraft mechanic. Everything works with the exception of the power antenna. The timing belt is due to get replaced in the next 20k. About how much does it cost to have the dealer do a timing belt with oem parts nowadays? This is definitely the coolest vehicle I've ever owned. I giggled like a little girl when I first drove off in this thing.

She looks real nice. The body looks perfect...not bad for a 14 year old truck. Don't recall ever seeing that color combo before. Power antenna is supposedly a somwhat easy fix. People advise that you go with an authentic toyota antenna rather than the cheapo ones on ebay. Good luck.

The power antennas are notorious for breaking. I would convert to a tacoma whip style antenna (that's what I'm doing whenever I get around to it). The timing belt/w.p. is like $7-800 at the dealer IIRC. Do the idler pulleys too.

I also had a busted antenna. I got an OEM Toyota replacement. I hate antennae that don't move, that's very low quality GM-esque IMO.

I like mine retracted and with the right head unit or even any ol' switch, you can make it gone. I prefer driving without it considering I never, ever use the radio.

well if you bring to me i do w/p t-belt idlers drive belts antenna mast and whatever else for under 700... to bring to my dealer and do all that prolly 1800 to 2000. pays to know... i can also ship you parts...

Wow looks awesome! Watch the paint on the hood/roof...I've seen more peeling/fading 4Runners in our color (Anthracite Metallic) than I can shake a stick at.

Welcome! and nice color choice. There are a few other guys on here with this color. mine is a 97, and the paint does get spotted in certain areas if your not careful, mine is starting to do it on the top. Enjoy!

Welcome to the site. Very nice you will love it more everday, i also accuried a 96Limited 4x4 10months ago w/68k that was sitting for 5years. Already put 10+ miles on and still running like new. (my first 4runner as well and it was exactlly what i wanted even the color)
