My New H3.....

OK just kidding as most or some of you know we were trying to figure out our vehicle situation here at home because the wife liked the 4R and wanted it so we thought about trading her vehicle on an H3 for me .............I'm glad to say my arse will stay planted in the seat of my 4R.......ya baby !!

I took the H3 on a pretty long test drive yesterday and have been comparing spec's to the 4R and when you really look at the spec's the H3 does not have much more to offer and even less in most cases than our 4 runner's. Never really realized that until I got past the agressive stance of the H3 and really started looking at the specs.

I will try to post some info here about comparision's soon as I get a chance , you might be very surprised at the 4R.

My 06 Sport with 9k miles on it was sooooooo much tighter hand handled road and bumps so much better than the H3 with 200 miles on it,it was night and day difference.

I don't know how anyone copes driving a Hummer 2 or 3 - everyone looks at you and thinks "over excessive, military vehicle, gas guzzling, soccer mum truck" - whether it's correct or not!

At least the H3 is more of a realistic vehicle and doesn't take up the whole road and they are available with a 5 speed and very capable off road but I doubt anybody'll find that out with 22" wheels slapped on 'em.

Does it have the Inline-6 4.2L or a V8 option. Those low tech gas guzzlers plus the fact it's domestic (plus what Expat said) don't even put it in the T4R ballpark. What's the appeal?

Neither H2 or H3 are military quality or even close to it.

I believe its actually and inline 5 and I don't think v8 is an option.

I believe that in 2007, the HP and Torque will be better due to increase in displacement...3.7 L i think.

From what I hear 20 hp .

Up from a 3.5L they only offer a inline 5 cyl.

I'm so thrilled with my 4R after driving that H3 , Anyway Wife will go for Rav4 4cyl. and 4x4 limited , we are going to test drive a Highlander at some point & time when the temp drops below 100 degrees.....lol

When we test drove the Rav on Sat. standing out on that black asphalt in the sun in 95 drgree temps and humid as hell I felt like passing out . At that point I would have bought a Yugo just to get the hell out of there.....lol

And to reward you for being so underpowered, it also gets crappy gas mileage.

My brother owns one, and averages about 14-15 MPG, my V8 4R gets 16 to 18 average. (and has tons more power)

The H3 just looks ridiculous, cheap, and small to me. Plus a small Chevy truck doesn't do anything for me (or any GM for that matter).
