My new project....

After about a 6 month break from owning a 4runner 4x4, I am back in one....

Picked up a clean 2003 V6 SR5 with 120,00 miles. Not sure what my longterm plans are, but I am going to get some sliders and a mild lift to start.

The beginning.....as of yesterday



I have been offroading 4runners for the last 14 years.....some of you know my history

Started with "Goldmember" and modified and wheeled it for 9 years..





I then traded for this 3rd gen a couple years ago..



For some reason I sold that to buy a Tundra...still asking myself why?

Ordered some sliders for it from 4xinnovations, and have the hook up for an OME lift...hopefully I will have both done before Xmas.

I was looking at the sliders from 4xinnovations. Do they bolt on using existing holes?

Welcome back, it always amuses me when 4Runner guys sell their trucks for a pickup only to turn around and come back :bowl:

Hindsight...you know how it goes.

Today I hooked up my trailer brake controller for my pop-up, and installed the Ultraguage I had from my old rig...






I also picked up the OME struts and rear shocks I have been looking at..now I need rear springs, and time to install them...

So I installed the lift today...gave me about 3.5 inches up front and 2 inches in the back with airbags deflated.

Lift consists of OME 90000 front struts with OME 885 coils, stock FJ rear springs with Daystar 1.5 inch spacers and Airlift airbags.

I am happy with how it turned out, and had it done in about 5 hours today.

Did you go from older stock suspension to the OME? And if so, do you have any issues with your steering? Your UCAs might be pretty stretched.

Diggin the lift though, can't wait to see the rest of the build!

Looks good now...still need to get it aligned at work

Once it settles you should be ok with your alignment. Your caster will be low, but not as bad as some. Depending on how it feels to you on the highway it might be worth keeping your eyes open for a used set of caster adjusted UCA's.

Haven't done much to my 4th gen recently...finally got around to replacing the crappy stock radio....best $20 I have spent in a long time!!
