When it arrived at location, I pulled all the plugs and rotated the motor by hand. Good thing it wasn't locked up!

I then poured a little Marvel Mystery Oil (highly recommend this stuff!!) in each plug hole and let sit for a couple days. I got a new starter (the old one was fried) and installed that.

I filled the radiator with water but that thing was leaking like crazy! I also took the carb off and blew it out.

At some point in it's life, somebody replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electric one so I hotwired that to the battery. I stuck the fuel line in a little gallon of gasoline and jumped the starter.

With no pumping or anything the motor fired up as smooth as any new car! I feel so damn lucky because the car hadn't been started in 8+ years.:banana:

The wheels were spinning in reverse though haha, I didn't notice that I left it reverse.

And I have to thank my friend Kevin for letting me store my Edsel at his house and helping me with everything.:hatsoff:

I will definitely post progress pics and updates but I've got to go to college next year so progress will be delayed.

I don't know how long it will be until the final product but I'm shooting for around 5-10 years. It's incredibly difficult to find parts for a 50's car, and even harder for an ugly duckling like the Edsel. (Damn Expensive too)

But, I will forever own some kind of 4Runner so I will be on this forum for as long as it's online.

I don't know, maybe in 10 years this will be the longest thread ever... hehe
