There ended up being more damage than I thought. It actually dented that panel too, lower down towards the door. Having it fixed now through Geico at Carrubba Collission. Had to do two separate claims ($250+$250 for deductibles) for the side swipe and the tailgate since the adjuster "couldn't" relate the two incidents. Hopefully it doesn't increase my insurance rate. Should be done on Wednesday. Until then I get to cruise around town (well, basically just going to and from work - I work weekends) in my Father's Chrysler Crossfire. Cool, fun, little car! I figured I'd borrow that instead of renting some lame vehicle for a week! Even though the car is fun to drive, I can't wait to have my 4Runner back!

Mike & Maz - Sadly there are no cameras aimed in that area or even in the range. I don't know why they don't put security cameras up. There's been break-in's in the one lot, which is why I stopped parking there, but the people who park there seem to be better drivers, so I just may start parking there again. I leave nothing visable in my truck anyways, so maybe it'll actually be safer sitting there. It's a casino, and the customer lots all of have cameras, but the two employee lots don't, go figure. I suppose it just proves that they really don't care about their employees. Not a shocker.

My work schedule is pretty hectic, but I'm off Tuesday, so I'll look into getting it fixed then. Hopefully this rain stops by then too!
I know it's "a small" mark, but it still hurts... I've worked hard to buy this truck. I don't make the big bucks, so I take great pride in being able to own my 4Runner! Hopefully she'll soon be looking new again.
P.S. I picked up a rivet gun this morning while running errands before work, so I can finally install my Japanese Fuel Door
Easy to repair yourself. Get your paint code and head to NAPA. Using the code, they’ll mix paint and put it into an aerosol can. Grab a can of clear coat and your paint and get ready to hand over about 30 bucks. Masking tape, and old newspaper, and sandpaper, and you’re good to go.
I recently addressed a scratch using this method and I’m pleased with the result.

I had a scrape with a car while changing lanes a while back.
And the end result was about as bad as your damage.
It is hard to notice... (not to YOU of course)
And considering the cost of fixing it, you'd be better off letting it go.
Or, at least, waiting till you have enough money to cover the deductible.
I'm sure you know that it coulda been worse...

I'm sure DonnyB would appreciate your comments and helpful advice....BUT this is a 9 year old topic/thread and on top of that looking at his profile DonnyB hasn't even been on the forum for almost 4 years....I'm guessing he sold his 4th Gen T4R and now owns something else.
