My rims look like crap......

They have orig. weight marks from the factory , then I took it to have Revos put on and they balance on outside instead of inside the rim ( like told ) . A while later I took the truck in and had them switch the WL to the inside and balance them on the inside ( done correct this time ) .

They look nice going down the road but at close inspection , you can see all the little gouges , no clearcoat break/flaking though , I keep them polished with a sealant .

I'm trying to buy some take off FJ 17" alloys anyways.

I just touch mine up with some urathane and a brush. It's not perfect but it's better than the alternative. The alternative behing corridion getting under the clear:awais:

Were you able to determine if the offset on the 17"FJC wheels is indeed different than our T4R's? I know the 16" TRD wheels have the wider stance offset but looking at rims on ebay all the 17's look just like the ones I have.

Yes the offset is different and will stick out more but not sure how much. Someone said in the other post that it was only .6" but I cant confirm that.

Even Steven has them on his 4R but he seems to be missing in action , he has real world visuals. I can't find his post / pic if he had on e of the rim comparison.

My nicks on the rim look crappy but clearcoat is all good and intact. Once that start's lifting your F'd.

My FJ front springs left FT Collins yesterday headed for here, which is SW Florida, so it'll be a few more days.

From measuring and reading posts on another site it seems as though the Rear FJ springs are the same diameter stock and 20mm longer. (25.4mm would be an inch.) I measured 15.1mm diameter stock and 380mm tall. The other site has T4R springs listed at 15mm and 360mm tall.

I do know my calipers are cheapies and I'm assuming an official measurement of diameter is without paint. In my mind that's why I got 15.1mm and the spec on the 4Runner spring is 15mm.

I was not able to find specs for FJCruiser springs other than vague comparisons to T4R springs. The comparisons all talk about the FJC srpings being slightly longer and the shocks being a little stiffer. I have found no mention of differences in spring rate. Overall the body weights, especially on the front-end, have to be very similar.

As far as rim offset is concerned .6" sounds close, I thought it was a hair more. I am under the impression there's about 14mm difference in offset between the stock T4R and FJC TRD rims which yields a little less than 1.5" inches in track. It sounds like somewhere between a 1.2" and 1.5" gain in track. That's good new on the 17" having the different offset too. Thanks.:cheers:

I have decent scratches on 2 if not 3 of my wheels, so im gonna get em powdercoated in the near future. im sure the scracthes willl only show up worse then........ fugit!
