My runner on stands????

Hey everyone

I'm planning on having my stock rims powder coated. The thing is, once my rims are off the car, my 4runner will have to sit on stands for 3 days (this is the turn around time for powder coating). Is this safe? Are there special stands I should buy? Will all four stands support the runner? Any alternatives?

Just use 4 safety stands. I use 3 ton stands, $15 a pair at Wal-mart. Try to lift the truck on level ground and make sure you place the stands in secure/appropriate spot on the frame.

You could also put the axle stands under the front and rear axles. You would have to jack it up higher if you put the stands under the frame. When you let it down the suspension will unload bringing the tire down to the ground.

It is safe to leave your runner on stands for days. Just be careful of the placement of the stand when lowering it on them. Double check it before you pull the tires off.
