Okay guys I have been pestering everyone on here for help with repairs... I was having issues with passenger side front brakes and folks on here said probably caliper. Got caliper and broke it down...had told my mechanic about the problem but he didn't come up with what everyone on here said right away. So when I took it down one brake pad was down to metal and into the rotor...other side fine.
Put on new rotor and brake pads...replaced caliper with part #C9920. Bled the brakes but read with ABS may need to take to mechanic. Brakes were soft so took to mechanic.
When got to mechanic first guy said bleeding it properly with ABS should fix it. Also stated with ABS anytime you get in lines you should do a full flush and fill. Said it would be $80...no problem. Then get call from another guy there saying it is a mess and the brake pads are shredded etc.. and we should probably replace both calipers because if one is bad the other probably is close. I had check pads on other side and the looked great. I said no and just repair passenger side. When I picked it up he said the #C9920 was to big. When I returned it to part store we double checked numbers said it was right and pads looked good.
They also used FRC11549 which in the parts store computer said it was for the driver side and that it was compatible with there part for the passenger side. Repair cost me $346.64.
So did I screw up repair, did part store give me wrong part or is my mechanic screwing me?????????
